Smaller S/C pulley boost question

I have a Kleemann Eaton root style S/C with a 2.8" stock pulley that make 6.2 psi of boost on a cool day. If i put in a lighter (half the weight) 2.6" pulley, how many psi should I be making?

thanks

I dunno, but I'd bet the drag of that extra weight would make a difference. Is the pulley easy to come by? DOOOOO EEEEEEETTTTTTT!

I had a machine shop CNC a 2.6" out of aircraft light weight aluminum for me but I have to buy 5 in order for them to turn on the equipment So I have 4 extra if you know anyone who want to buy it off of me. I can't believe how heavy the stock pulley was.

anyway, i had it installed last night. but i only seeing a 2 psi increase on my boost gauge. I hear other saying a 65mm will make 12psi, I don't know if this depend on the car or is there somthing wrong with my S/C

That's right. My 65mm made 12psi. I still have it since you returned it to me. I had another one made 70mm and it made 8.5psi and that's what is on my car now.

Your 2.6in pulley makes 8psi vs. mine which makes 12psi is due to the roots vs. twin-screw design.

The good part about your SC kit is it makes instant power in the lower RPMs, easier and cheaper to repair and less likely to break since the lobes/rotors tolerances are not so tight. If my SC breaks, it would be much more difficult to service than yours.

Blower pulleys

Peter : Here is the guy I go to for pulley's & he stocks them. The outher issue with using a small Diameter pulley , is that you lose belt wrap. and Belt slip % may increase http://www.southfloridapulleyhq.com/...ed_pulleys.htm Cheers _PTEngineering
