no offense, but i would have believed you if you weren't swearing and so personal about the other driver in the video. Sounded a bit too serious there about taking him out and bragging your car was better.

Sweet video and glad to see you had fun!
Right when the video started, before looking at your location, I knew it was New York! So recognizable. I miss it.

If you look at the first sticky on the w211 forum, you will see all of the details. A few of the guys up here are bringing their highly modded and very fast e55's, they run mid 11's. I'm trying to convince a friend of mine with a bone stock 55 to drive down with me... he and I aren't really sure who's car is faster - it seems like mine above 80, his from 10-70, all bets are off on a street launch.

hey im kind of interested in the MIR meet, but it would be my first time going to the track. Do i need a helmet? can i rent there if i do or do i have to buy one?

Most times you can borrow a helmet from the people showing up, unless you have a huge mug like mine, or are running Jerry-curl all over your hair.
You'll have fun, don't be nervous.

that is one of the saddest examples of a race I have ever seen. Your broken in 55 vs an unbroken in 63...in tons of traffic to top it off.
nice kill.......NOT....
One more example of how far down and fast this forum is going....
+1...

Good news, you have plenty of time to go to a track near you to practice prior to 11/15! If you go to ATCO, my guess is Oldgixxer will be lurking around there, and he appears to be quite the drag-racing bad*ss. I'd say to PM him, but apparently he has been banned around here for not "complying". The drag racing sticky is good, but expect not to be that great your first few runs, it is hard to get a handle on a good launch... I'm still not that great and I've brought the benz 4 or 5 times. The other good news is that some of the better guys around at launching will be there to give you tips. You do need a helmet, which you can get for about 100 bucks at any motorcycle store, just check the tracks required snell rating and make sure the helmet meets the rating... for that reason I would only buy a used one if it is recent vintage. But you should definitely come, just make sure your IC pump is working, a cheap fix and something that appears to break on many 55s, and will slow you down dramatically if it is malfunctioning. Z

Well the reason why I was swearing was because I got a little excited when I actually saw that my car was pulling on his. I was a little carried away but still not bragging. You see it your way still doesn't matter to me.

I've raced plenty of 55's, including on the track. There are a few vids around here evidencing so. The 55 (in stock form) is SLOW and will always loose to the 63 (too much torque and not enough horse power). It's always about some guy, somewhere else, that posted a great time (at the track without a 63 to represent). Every 55 I have raced has LOST and there have been plenty of people around to witness.

I researched this to help not to pick one over the other...(keep in mind I don't own either)
E55 drag times: http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...arch+DragTimes
E63 dragtimes:http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...arch+DragTimes
Edmunds.com specs
E55 stock: 469 HP, 575 torque, 0-60 4.5, curb weight: 4087
E63 stock: 507 hp, 465 torque, 0-60 4.2, curb weight: 4035
So quite frankly guys its a drivers race based off these specs. In my opinion the E63 has a better look but the E55 has way cheaper mods and easier to modify. No reason to act like one is honestly way faster then the other cause these specs just don't make it seem so. If this was a C32 vs. a C63 stock for stock comparison I would understand but its not its comparing 2 very close spec cars. The difference in HP is +38 to E63 but torque is +110 E55. Its takes one post to start a slugfest between owners.
