B...I couldn't find any aftermarket company that made a double din bezel for the E55, so that is why I went the fabrication route. I got lucky with an installer that was good with a router and is **** about fitment, so it looks great in my car.
Yes it isn't wood but a water transfer finish, which is getting redone in piano black along with the rest of the interior wood trim. I'll PM you on the cost...

sup fellas sorry to bring this thing back again but i had another question. where can i get a wiring harness? my uncle has been telling me that to put another unit in i would have to get another wiring harness so that my factory speakers and sup would work with the new system. i have the logic7 surround system as well as the harmon/kardon speakers. so anyone know?

scoshe makes a crappy dash kit and another company from netherlands makes one thats better but still not perfect. either one would be a nice start for a custom dash kit. there is not a wiring harness because there are practically no wires - fiber optic cables going from the headunit to the amp in the trunk.
I replaced all speakers, headunit, sub and amp. No point in trying to make stock crap work, easier to replace everything and the end result will be a much nicer sounding system.
Here is what I did...
-Alpine W505 Screen with Alpine P1 Nav & Bluetooth
-Memphis Component Speakers and Tweeters front and back
-JL 500/1 Amp
-JL 10w7 Sub

alright so what I'm getting here is that I have to change the stock audio system so that I can get a different wiring setup and then that'll hook up to whatever new doubledin I would get. Correct?

Do you guys know if there is a wire harness for the power leads, or is splicing needed to power an aftermarket unit like the Kenwood DNX 9140 or 8120. I plan to replace everything with aftermarket ( HU, amps, and speakers ).
