Question to VRP: Longtube Headers / Exhaust Combo

VRP and I have been playing phone tag so I thought I would ask my question via this forum (and I think others on this forum might benefit from the question). I have the K2 from Kleeman, which of course comes with Kleeman's headers. My question is:

1. Has anybody replaced their Kleeman headers for your VRP Longtube Headers and Exahust Combo?

2. Is there an increase in hp from swapping out the Kleeman headers for your VRP Longtube Headers and Exhaust Combo?

Thx ahead for any response.

I basically think you can squeeze an extra 10 or so hp on long headers vs shorties and I do NOT think there will be a significant performance difference between the two "brands", although I don't know the stats with the Kleemans. The biggest key for me would be how the O2 sensor gets tied back in (if at all) and the tuning that would be needed to optimize the power AND avoid CELs. I have yet to see a setup worth the 10hp IMO, although I may go that route real soon

Jangy is correct. The difference will be hard to justify.

Wouldn`t depend on if the kleeman shorty style header set up left the 1.7-1.75 ID tube in between the header flange and the first cat?
\
From pictures, it looks like most shorties leave that tiny little restrictive tube left in line. If so, It seems the VRP longtube set up would make a nice gain? Am I missing something or just hate looking at that those little tubes every time I open my hood. Mb calls it a 2.75 exhaust but it is only as good as its weakest link.. Fair to keep up exh. velocities but 1.75?? Ouch!

Just some pics as a reference what the VRP looks installed...

I have not CEL's since I've gotten the longtube headers and the VRP exhaust tubes...

rar...here is the thread that started it all...it's pretty long but the original thread kind of explains the whole kit...thread #160 shows the pic of the coated kit.

I think every question about the VRP longtube headers and exhaust package was asked and argued about in this thread...

I'm pretty sure it will with some tinkering, but Vadim or Victor might want to chime in to give you a definitive answer...

Tinkering? No way. If people are asking about cali smog, them NO WAY will it pass inspection just because it has no CARB sticker. The CF box is the same.

Correct. And for that matter, no headers or aftermarket exhaust manifolds will be "legal" because they don't have CARB certification. However, I am willing to bet there are more than a few smog stations out there that will overlook aftermarket exhaust, so long as: The same number of cats remain on the car, and they remain in the same place on the car.

That is not true ... there are manufacturers that provide headers that have CARB cert. I don't believe I have ever seen one that are Long Tubes though.
