'04 E55 spare tire?
Okay, time for an ignorant (i.e. didn't check before buying) question...just got home from picking up my '04 E55 (black/black, dynamic seats, keyless go - pretty much all the goodies except Pano roof).
There is no spare, just what looks like a factory supplied can of flat fix (label is in German.. ). However the manual shows a collapsible spare for the E55.
What is the correct setup? The spare tire well looks to be almost too small for a space saver spare, anyway.....
Barry
PS - Really impressed with the car, well behaved through 100+ miles of stop n' go traffic (through LA/OC) and 85+ cruising (I5 south of San Jose to LA and OC down to SD), but really honks when you get the pedal down. The pulsing seat feature was a hoot while 'steaming' in the 15 mph average through all of LA (friday afternoon traffic ).

[QUOTE=dbarrym;2987122]With my luck, a spare will be needed at some point!![QUOTE]
I've only had to have other cars towed twice in 20 years that I can remember. This one's been on the flatbed 3 times to the tire store. The 1st time was self inflicted, the other two were from road debris.

Is your battery mounted in the middle/ front of the trunk floor, or to the right side? I did a retrofit on my 2003, and had to replace the plastic trunk floor. Nothing custom is required. All the parts are available.

Wow - my trunk well looks very different... it's square with a plastic cover beneath the carpet/trunk floor. I'll go dig in it tomorrow in daylight - thanks very much for the photo!
