I am pretty sure that the red colored upshift warning display is triggered by the transmission control unit which is why it doesn't work in an E55...if it IS something that is triggered by the cluster itself, then it will not work in an 55 because it does not make it up to the 63 redline.

hey... REGARDING INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SWAPPIN
I'm looking to swap the one I have( 06 E350) to the E55 one( white looking one with white lights) do u have that one in stock??? please email me at chrisrek@live.com thanks

Hi, I'm going to replace my stock instrument cluster because it's broken.
Mine is W211 E200 Kompressor 2005.
Since mine in broken and need replacement. Do you think it's possible to replace the instrument cluster with different type of parts number ?
Let say mine is E200k > replace with E260 or E280 or E55 or AMG style ?
Dealer here said we cannot replace instrument cluster with different one because it will make the options (cruise control / etc ) does not work or ERROR.
Please advise

For those who have done this mod did you have anyone other than Steve program it for you? I want this so badly but I'm afraid I won't find anyone to program it, or they will not know what is involved to reprogram an instrument cluster.
Please let me know because it's either this or the leather AMG airbag as I can install that lol.

I would like to do this on my e55 that I imported from Canada. Because the car was originally in KMH I am afraid that I cannot buy a new cluster and do a board swap from my cluster to the new cluster as the MPH will not line up with KMH (160 kmh is straight up on the gauge, which is 99.4 mph).
My question is, can I buy a new cluster and do a board swap and have the MPH reading be correct? If not, how do I reprogram the new cluster to work with my car. I know MBenzNL seems to be the board member in the know on gauge clusters, but I cannot PM him directly. Any help is appreciated.
