The difference is probably the 65 ones have AMG stamped on them...hence the higher price.

By the way, I don't see the price in here. Is it the same as the 600 tune?

Vadim have you looked into any methanol water tunes to get more HP/TQ?
Could you set up a tune to adjust from 93 to 100 or higher automatically, like MB has theirs set up? Could this methyl water injection be included in aforementioned tune??

Maybe get to that 1K mark you are looking for on your SL.

Vadim, why is the 65 AMG able to handle 650 rwto and be drivable, while you state the tuned 600tt can only handle about 590 rwto? is it possible during your testing fase your rear tires were too worn out?

Also another member recently got Kleemann K2 on his SL600, on a Dynodynamics which usally read lower than Dynojets by at least 20rwhp it is a 93 octane tune while yours is 91 oct, & I know you stated more power could be had w/93+ on your tune...

The before/after Last time, it was 80 and the pulls were done quickly. This time, it was 90+ outside
He got 680 RWTO and reports no drivabilty problems, or losing control..

Of course, they mostly work on subaru's and light weight race cars, so they're not seeing a lot of torque typically. Having said that, they had a stock '07 SL65 a few weeks ago that pulled 481/650. So, I was pretty happy with my results beating the 65.

3.) No drivability issues whatsoever. If I floor it, yeah, it sits and spins. but, heck, it did that before I got the tune! I just have to feather the throttle a little bit more at takeoff now. At 60, I can still just punch it with no concern.

4.) I believe dynojet does typically give higher readings.
So why can the K2 ECU/TCU handle 680rwto & even a STOCK

handle 650 rwto & your S600

Sorry to be redundant I'm just very confused on these results, thank you for your time bud!

ps....Any chance you will be able to access/enable the throttle blipping/rev matching MHP is promising on their latest tunes?

new balance
The car is completely driveable with immense TQ at the rear wheels, but that all depends on your definition of driveable. Even with 600 RWTQ and ESP off it will light the tires up. To keep the car sane keep ESP on. I have over 710RWTQ and its still under control. Especially for you Cali guys who have warmer weather and the tires stay warmer u should be fine.

That's what I'm talkin' bout Even stock the tires light up, I know the 600tt is capable of much more than 590rwto, & I'm on a quest to get it

I've spent some time researching the Brabus 6.3 Biturbo so maybe I can answer some of these questions...

Brabus uses the same engine as in the Mercedes 600 cars...

Mercedes:

Brabus:

I looked into the cooling mods that Brabus made to the Benz engine, but after a long search I found a picture that shows the Brabus engine using stock I/C's and stock routing of the coolant lines, stock airboxes...

BUT... compare the size of the turbine on the Brabus turbo above to this one on the stock SL65 AMG Engine (Picture courtesy of VRP Tuning)...

Brabus was making the 6.3L Biturbo years before AMG Released the 65 series cars.

I forgot to mention, Brabus does offer tunning for the 65 series with the 6.0L V12TT Engine:

BRABUS T65 S
Basis: S 65 (W221)

Power enhancement by modified engine electronics with modified boost pressure regulation and syncronized ignition- and injection-engine maps. Additionally a back pressure lowering metal-catalytic converter is used. Furthermore a special exhaust gas turbocharger is built in with a more effective intercooler.

Technical data:
Displacement: 6233cc
Bore/stroke mm: 83 / 96
Compression ratio: 9.0 : 1
Torque Nm: 1320 Nm @ 2100RPM (limited at 1100 Nm electronically)
Power output kW/PS: 526 / 715 @ 5100RPM

Turbos are the same size and so are the intercoolers, the 65 Heat Exchanger is twice as tall and twice as think as on the 600 cars.

A little birdie told me that there's a 65 running around the midwest who's had good results with this tune, but I am unforutnately not in a position to post any results. It seems like the winning ticket for the 65s is cooling and tune. Tunes generate substantial power but are limited because of cooling, the combination of both has yielded impressive figures.

Thats not nice....., We need to know who this is!! Why not just inform the remaining humble 65 owners. I don't see myself paying for anything over 3500 beans right now. We need to investigate who this is...eventhough I may have a clue. vadim is always mentioning him....
