I raced a 09 C63 with my E55
1st race we did was from 0-150mph. After 3 honks we hit the gas and off the line I was pulling on the 63 slightly but not too hard, it ended up with my 55 about 1 1/2 to 2 cars on the C63 to 150. 2nd run was a roll from 25-140mph and I ended up with about 1 car ahead. 3rd roll was from 35/40 to 120mph, I started on 2nd gear instead of first and he got me by 1 1/2 car lenths on that run. The 63 said he want's to run again because his tire's are shot. C63 is fast as f*** but my 55 came out the faster AMGGG.

Glad to hear my butt dyno still works. My tech let me take a cruise in the C63 and I was really impressed. Didn't feel to far off the E55 and the sound was awesome.

I believe this has been proven to be a driver's race at best.
The majority will most likely agree an E55 is faster up to the 1/4 mile and the E63 pulls past that....given same level of drivers and weight of vehicles.

I'm confused on two things.
First, why on earth would you race a C63 before an E63? The C is lighter.
Wax? No way. Playing around town, yes I wax E63s all day because i am always in my powerband. But in a highway race or at the track the E63 with just the charcoal filters out is a monster. Controlled races, I'd agree it is a driver's race.
Nutshell: E55 is quicker and the E63 is faster?
I would expect the C63 to SPANK and E55 (modded or not) on any kind of road course. You have to respect 500 horses, even if they did extend the wheelbase, slightly....

The C is not 500hp, its 451hp, and the weight difference is no more then a 200-300 pd advantage for the C63. E55 comes in with 17hp and 73lbs ft of torque more if you go with the 469hp 516tq numbers or from what I've been seeing of late the E55 has mroe around 493hp with around 550tq. I have raced both E63 and C63 in the last 2-3 weeks and C63 was definetly quicker.
wanna bet on the weight, too?
E63 = 4400lbs
C63 = 3649lbs

While I love to hear any support in favor of the C63, I do believe E55AMGGG04 is correct and that MB did advertise true hp. I've seen 3 dynos of stock C63s so far, and they've all shown around 370-380whp, placing it around 450hp.
Also, another member weighed his C63 and if I remember right it weighed over 3900lbs. I really wish the 3649lbs were true though.
But in anycase, a 300-400lb weight advantage is still significant, and for $1500 we can recover that lost hp and boost power up to 517chp. I know we're talking stock vs stock, but unleashing the C63's banished hp, IMO, is not really a mod but answering the 6.2's cry for mercy
I'm ok with calling anything after that a mod though haha.

I'm not into back calculating, but the first E63s also posted sub 400rwhp. Keep in mind that most E63 guys have stripped the charcoal filters. I know of 1 C63 that was dyno'd just to find this out and it came in EXACTLY like the E63. That is all I know.

I have to agree, from what I've read and researched on here, the 6.2 engine needs a thorough break-in to see its true potential. I remember the dismal times the E63 put up when it was first released, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
