Thanks for your input. Also, FYI, we're going to do a handful of ECU/TCM tunes at a discounted rate initially so objective/third party results and opinions can be attained and posted.

I'm half asleep but is this for the 63's only? Anything for the 55's?

besides all these claims, can you change the adaptive settings? i'd like to see the adaptives eliminated for sport mode so that when i'm in sport mode the transmission shifts aggressive everytime instead of predicting i want a soft shift because i've been driving like granny for the past few days. if that can be done i'll seriously consider this.

It's for any WA5A (580-900) or W7A700 tranny, meaning your E55 is covered. Basically any 5A or 7A from MB is now tunable.

Thanks

Would you want hard/firm shifts all the time (including part throttle) or just at WOT in sport mode?

Thanks

What I would like is that comfort is only comfort. When I throw it in Sport its max sport meaning the fastest shifts possible. I don't want it to be adaptive at all in Sport mode.

is this possible?

Where are you and how much will this cost? If you can finance it for me over a few months, I'm IN!!!

Seriously, it is good work and if things go as they seem you will have lots of us banging on the door. The tranny has been a huge upcoming thing and even the "AMG" manufactur upgrade is way better than our standard TCU tunes.

My car is ready when you are.

Wow if this works like chriomikey and slk55 asked about you will have alot of customers the next day!

Quick question, makin the shift firmer will that effect tranny life or any other related parts?

the adaptive learning not only softens shifts but changes shift rpms so the car short shifts when driving normally and the trans won't kick down all the time when you do stomp on the throttle after soft driving. i don't need it to shift hard when in part throttle but i would like it to get rid of the traits i just mentioned while in sport mode. however, while in comfort mode, i'll take all the adaptives i can get so my dates and colleagues don't get upset while under normal driving.

Depending on exactly what needs to be done (and what model you have) anywhere between $1600-2000.
I'm going to use a handful of beta testers to do some objective testing with their own cars, and then my friend, it's game time.

Ultimately the answer to that will vary from vehicle to vehicle. Stock or moderately modified, no, quicker shifts may actually help extend the life of certain parts of the transmission. Reduced torque management on shifts can shorten tire life, how much would depend on your right foot.
We have a good idea of how much tq the trannys can actually handle thanks to our own personal experience with WA5As and Bill @ Paramount Performance. He's done an absolutely amazing job with the WA5As in the last few mos. Believe me when I say Renntech has NOTHING on Bill's trannys.

SRT8s are saddled with the same issues.

Understood. I'm going to have to do some more probing before I can answer that with 100% certainty--shouldn't be more than a day or two.

Yes we can reduce or eliminate torque management.

haters crazy
I dont understand how you can alter stall speed without changing the torque converter and dont see how you can increase line pressure without modifying the valve body. I guess you are just altering shift firmness within the stock valve body range.
