VRP 1/4 mile runs?
I've been some intense searching and I really haven't found any info in regards to 1/4 mile times with VRP upgrades. I have plans to have the VR600 installed very soon and I'm just looking to see what I should expect. Right now I'm stock tires but PS2's will be going on soon, just waiting to decide on what rim size I'll be going with, most likely 19's. I'm not looking to start a tuner vs tuner war just some solid info in regards to 1/4 mile times. I live in Northern California and that time of year is coming around. Unfortunately I haven't had time to run my E55 at the track yet due to my work load. I would have really liked to have some type of before and after comparison but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Thanks in advance and hope everyone had a great holiday.

you will get just about the same with the VR600 as you get with any other tuner. You have to choose who will help you if in a bind or who is easyest to work with.

Like Rocket said, it is hard to compare 1/4 mile times when so many conditions vary. However, VRP's products have been top notch so far, and their VR600 package is a great value upgrade. To answer your question, I think on average, a VR600 should be able to run high 11s fairly easily.

So would a VRP550 be equal to a Stage 1 and VRP600 = Stage 2? I know that there is someone with a stage 1 running 11.6 @ 117 but I think he is running an LET setup.

I ran my car stock back in March, if I remember correctly, and plan to run with the guys here in Phoenix come the fall time. I'll probably just try to forget my stock run as the track prep wasn't great (i.e. an SL65 was running 12.5s, consistently
) and I hadn't done anything with my radiator/pump.
I would hope to be in the high 11's with my VR550, and maybe close to mid 11's with VRP600?

VR550 = Stage 1
VR600 = Stage 3
Stage 2 = Pulley + ECU + Headers
I think Kleemann is similar, but still with slight variations.

SL55 with VR550 ran 12.3 @ 116.8mph, and SL's are usually slower than E's. I would think that high 11's should be possible even with 550, and a piece of cake with 600

Jangy was running VR600 without the headers, so he was in between Stage 2 and Stage 3. Shawn ran 11.87 and a bunch of 11.90s on ONLY stage 1 in 90 F weather at Famoso.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping for high 11's with a little practice. I'm use to running my F350 at the track, stick in 4 high, boost to about 18 psi, and launch. It was a no brainer except for keeping a 8,000 lb CC 4x4 straight doing low 13's, too bad I never got to run the nitrous in her
. This is a whole new experience for me and I'm loving it. I'll be seeing Vadim this Saturday and I'm very excited.

No, the Evo shorties and the 80mm TB came later. The event I was talking about was at Famoso and of course the first time at Fontana, which I think you weren't with us Phil ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
At Famoso, Shawn was running with
ASP pulley + Powerchip Stage 1 ECU (the OLD version) + Drag Radials, and he hit 11.80s at 90 F and 1800 ft DA.
At the first Fontana event, he ran a bunch of 12.00 with a couple of 11.90s with the same setup, but DA was close to 3300 ft.
At the second Fontana event, he added shorty headers and updated to the VRP stage 2 powerchip software, and ran 11.70s but temp and DA were still too high.
Then at the 3rd Fontana event and the Sacramento event, he added the 80mm TB, which he also had during both Famoso events early this year. I believe his fastest so far is 11.50s @ 120.x and that was at 65 F and 900 ft DA. His car should be able to hit 11.40s if ran at -500 ft DA @ 45 F temps.... aka..... Famoso this December
