You must have the wiring and only need the puck. I believe you can find the pucks on ebay for a couple hundred less.

I had the bluetooth with puck installed by MBenzNL, and I love it. I haven't bought bluetooth yet because I don't like things in my ear, so this was a good alternative for me. It also downloads my phonebook onto both Command and in the IC.

Steve will be back again next month. Price is about the same as your dealer

My dealer quoted me $520 , so I went on e-bay and bid on a few of them and kept losing the bid war for the first few days, but finally won one and ended up buying it for $220

thanks for all the feedback. i just called the dealer back and they said they can lower the price to 495 so I may as well do it. probably could have gotten them down lower but didn't want to hassle.

at least they gave my wife a slk 350 as a loaner which she is diggin already. she already planted the seed and said maybe we need to step up and get a convertible (not an slk) as the weekend car and make the E your DD. HAHAHAHA

I've been doing some research and i am still a bit confused.
How do i know if my car has been pre-wired?

I have a 2006 W211 and believe I would need the MHI Bluetooth device...is that correct?

I am also concerned my blackberry curve will have some connectivity issues

If you open the armrest door and look on the back panel. It will need to come off. There will be the wiring behind it. We need the puck and the little (size of a quarter) mount for it. The mount pops into that back piece and plugs in just inside. Your '06 has it, I just do not know the terminology for which MHI, etc. Last thing, start was used to turn it on.

Probably a good choice Mo! I had an aftermarket unit called "Parakeet" installed a couple of years ago cost $700 installed and it's been flawless. Meets the Cali law too!

I bet more states will follow Cali soon too!
