e55 vs m6 and c5 z06

I know this belongs in the kill list but I only wanted to tell w211 people about this. because on paper and on youtube videos these 2 cars pull at least 1 car on the e55

first race, if u even want to call it that is against a proud z06 owner with z06 tail light inserts on each of the 4 tail lights like this (z06)(z06) (z06)(z06) at the red light i notice he has his AC on full blast blowing his hair with his windows down so he can hear his own rumbling exhaust, light turns green and we take it to about 30-40mph and I hear him notching up so we both floor it for a few seconds and prolly hit 70mph, we are side by side until a gardener pulls out of a driveway right in front of me

e55 vs m6. this was a good race and made me happy for a few hours. I race through some traffic to catch up to him and pass him and kept pace and just cruise.. seconds later I hear something coming from his engine bay.. I instantly floor the automatic e55 expecting him to already gain an instant car length since the automattic is laggy and has to skip 1-2 gears to downshift but the e55 must of shifted to lowest gear possable and right up into the 6000,6500 rpm range cuzz the e55 held the lead and only gained as teh race progressed. after we shut down we both come to a red light. light turns green and we both floor it and the m6 just kicks my *** and me and my wife were like wtf? so I come to conclude that the supercharger shut off because of the failing intercooler\water cooler pump =(

all of this was done on 87 mixed with 89 octane and the reason is I am trying to not gas it around town as hard because 500hp eats gas like no other but I just couldn't resist racing the m6 and z06

e55 is such a all around bad *** car!

Good story. But seriously dude, enough with the 87-89 mix. You are putting your engine at risk and that can potentially cost you way more then a tank of gas. Cut back on star bucks and going out to dinners. Not premium fuel for the beast.

My car doesnt know what 87 or 89 tastes like. I wouldnt eat crappy food... why feed it to my car? And that sux about the M6, God knows he's gloating right now. I know a normal intercooler for the Beast is about $240, how much is a "better" intercooler? May be worth it for people out of warranty.

+1 to premium...plus I have my ECU tuned to 93 octane anyways.

Shouldn't the E55 be quicker than a C5 Z06? Maybe the low quality gas was a factor.

How could you do that to an E55! You will eventually have a problem with your car because of using your mixing technique to save gas. I never raced a z06 but did race a M6. From 0 I pulled on him a nice 2 car length's but on the highway, he pulled on me a good 4-5 car lengths.

Is a driver's race. Magazine specs are 12.4 quarter mile.

And putting lower octane fuel should not hurt the car with a stock ECU as it will retard the engine to compensate supposedly.

This should give you an idea of how your car should run against a C5 Z06, not saying that you will have the same results but you get the picture.

thats right, from what i hear you can use lower octane for reduced performance by retarded ignition. but thats on my friends 350z, MB says not to throw the hammer down if using lower grade fuel aka don't press the pedal past 50%

im only using 87 octane to tame my driving habits but the v8 sounds so good under pressure.. if I ever get any exhaust work the e55 would get 5mpg lol

a front mount intercooler would most def be helpful to the 55k engines, the engine bay gets so damn hot.. I cant even touch the supercharger for over 1 sec.

if i were to ever 1\4 mile this car I would push it to the line-up while waiting in line
