Weekend Cruise with the E55, F40, Carrera GT
One of the coolest things just happened a few weeks ago. My brother flew in from out of town and wanted to experience some of Washington's roads. There just so happened to be a mountain cruise get together organized on 6speedonline that Friday. They wouldn't reveal the route until we got there, so we headed over there at 9:30am just to see what it was like.
As we pulled up at the designated Starbucks, I was greeted by a sea of brand new 911 Turbos, GT3's, a Carrera GT, a Ferrari F40, F430's, DB9, Gumball GT40 and a few other "normal cars" like mine. To top it off, everybody there was cool and really nice. Anyway, a picture says a thousand words, so.....
Here is the parking lot we first met in. A total of 30+ cars rolled in.
Our first leg was about 20 miles north to a gas station right before the first 200 mile leg of the trip. It was cool to see this diverse mix of cars inundating a gas station!

And then came the fun part. We took a certain highway east for 200 miles of pure mountain driving. We climbed and descended from sea level to 6000 feet. We had about 35 cars and were carving through the turns and full throttle (but safe 
) on the straights.
For all you E55 guys, the 55 held it's own amongst these kings. I actually passed a Carrera at 150, sling-shotting past him and cut out at 160+. I thought we were limited at 155, but I guess I pulled a NASCAR and drafted! LOL
An exciting moment was seeing the F40 climb the ranks from behind me in my rearview mirror and finally go for the pass. It sounded AMAZING! Having an F40 pass you on a mountain road doesn't happen to often!
Here is a quick vid we took after the pass by the F40. I apologize in advanced for it being shaky….my brother tried his best. But it give you an idea of the roads we were on.

As you see at the end of the video, we pulled over to enjoy the scenery.

Along the way, our next stop was a little peculiar, but nonetheless, pretty cool to see if you were a passer by…..which many (people who previously were pulling over to let the entourage go by) stopped to check out the action. There was this gravel opening on the side of the road that we parked in for a few:

Anyway, we made it to our mid destination, had some ice cream and then took a different route back. Total was about 450 miles. I went through two tanks....and I don't even know what the Ferrari's and Porsche's went through! But money well spent IMHO.
Overall, the 55 held it's own really well. I was on a 997 Turbo's tail for about 30 miles and he couldn't shake me on the straights. On the curves, I was left behind. But nothing a little suspension and tire work can't handle. I even tried to line up with the Carrera GT, but he left me in the dust. That thing humbled me quick. Nonetheless, I had a new found respect for all of the cars.
Anyway, just thought I’d share this cool experience with you guys. If any of you ever make it out here, I'll show you some of the greatest roads you'll ever be on.

Hey man, great pictures! I keep reading about this 6speed crew over on the other board, but havn't had a chance to make it out to one of their get togethers. They meet up too early for me haha. Looks like a blast, I need to make one of these.

What an awesome day that must have been.
last time I went on a ride like that, we had CHP (Cali highway patrol) picking off a few guys every mile or two. Not fun.
What's the story behind the matching pair of blue 997tt's (Atomic and Nuklear)? Must be interesting!

Thanks all for the nice comments. Yes, it was a trip. And the best part was, from the guy with the F40 to all the GT3RS, all were down to earth and kind. In fact, BigApe from this forum was there and brought his 996 Turbo. Great guy.
Overall, it was a freakin' blast flying with these cars and people. 450 of the best miles in this car so far!
