Update: MHP ECU/TCU Tuning (Throttle Blipping, etc, DONE!)
With 'harder' shifts, what kind of improvement would we see? I know we're not looking at a huge (if any) HP improvement so quicker/harder shifts...an increase in the first and second gear shift setting (no longer 6700 rpm) and?
I guess what I'm getting at is...when I pull up next to someone at a red light...can you give me a breakdown as to: Stock my car would do "X" with the TCU / ECU my car should do "Y".
Does this mean I'll scratch in 2nd and maybe 3rd?
I know not all of this can be answered without results (which hopefully we will get tomorrow!!
) but I want something to get excited about NOW!!!
Thanks for the "laymen's" help.
Keep up the good work!
Harder launches/shifts from our driveline tuning should mean .3-.4+ quicker ETs (as long as you have some decent rubber out back) alone. Depending on what model vehicle you have, and what your desired shift firmness is, yes, you can chirp the 1-2 and 2-3. I know this because I've done it in my C63 with ESP off, in sport it happens sometimes but not others, probably dependant on road surface. Since owners can't defeat ESP 100% in other models I can't comment on the chirping across the board until we have more results in.
We are also going to make more power and especially torque than anyone else with the ECU portion of our tuning. Last night I went over a few dyno graphs of alleged stock C63s with Renntech/Kleeman tuning. As it turns out the Kleeman car was dyno'd in 4th gear which would lead to 8-10rw more on the dyno vs 1:1 5th gear (what we use). The Renntech dyno shows a very low baseline pull then near identical gains to Kleemans 4th gear pull--though they at least recorded tq and rpm.
I'm now searching for legimiate dynojet SAE corrected 5th gear pulls for all models for the sake of comparison.

I can see how that would happen by jacking line pressure a good bit. The key is getting everything to work together in concert to achieve the desired quickness/firmness. The only downside is that it's such a subjective measurement, as everyone's butt-o-meter is different.

Thanks for your patience

Speed limiter is an automatically done deal, removed instantly unless the customer states they want otherwise.

Andy, don't forget the video of the rpm shifting from 1st to 2nd. This may be difficult to do at the track, so you may want to do it before
The latest it will happen is Sat (in car video of shifting). Would've happened already but ever since my neighbor borrowed my digital camcorder it doesn't seem to recognize my laptop.

Thanks
Andy
