Most of you should state how old you are.
I rmr when i first look at getting insured for a 2000 VW Golf 2L LOL it was 5K for insurence this was when i was 18. Everyone gets ripped off on insurance here until they reach 25.
You guys got it really good, i need to move down to the states!

Like I tell my friends: In So Cal, you pay for the weather. In Indy, the weather is free.

I can't believe the premiums most people are paying in this thread. My yearly premium (in No. VA.) is $540 for $100k/500k policy and $500 deductible. For those of you with no accidents or tickets, I highly recommend you give Erie a call. Everyone I have ever recommended them to has saved money. For whatever reason, my E55's premium is less than my Excursion and 3 series Bimmer. I do have my mileage set to less than 8500 miles a year, but it still amazes me that it's cheaper than my other cars. With that said, I'm in my mid 30's, have never had a claim, no tickets, and my home owners policy is with the same company.
Just out of curiousity, why do so many of you have your deductibles set to $100? We are all driving $80k plus cars.....would you really make a claim for that little amount of money. Upping your deductible is probably the fastest way to save on your annual premium.

Just gotta ask, Have you lived in other parts of the country? I grew up in San Diego county and agree with you that the lifestyle and weather is hard to beat. You just have to make a lot of money to maintain the same lifestyle as you could in most other parts of the country.

So true, you pay for the weather & lifestyle in So Cal, and IMO it's worth it, especially after living all of those other places.
In Indy, they should PAY YOU to deal with that weather j/k
BTW more to the point---I agree 100% with higher deductibles. $80K+ cars = $500+ deductible or else HIGH rates.
