my vrp tune

my car is done and being driven back to the bay area this afternoon. i was having all kinds of problems with my cooling mods{non functioning ic pump ,hose leaks, etc and the euro elites tune was dumping fuel.} the before VRP tune dyno actually was at 338... down from 480 rwhp right after the euro elite mods. so with the new tune from VRP , their work on my cooling mods and with my heavey Radenergie 20's on I am at 504rwhp and 530ish lbs of torque.

Neveo, it was a pleasure to meet you.

Thank you for your business.

Here are the graphs, before and after.

The TQ spikes on blue run are due to RPM pick up glitch. It was not happening on the car.

Low baseline can be explained by leaking cooling package that was installed prior. IAT were over 180F. Also original kompressor belt was slipping.

We upgraded the pump, installed new belt and retuned the car using our VR600 file.

WOW look at the fuel before tune. What were you getting for mileage? 2mpg?

What a trip.

Glad to see another EE tune bite the dust.

Great job Vadim!

this was the previous dyno before any mods , and after euro elites installed mods including their cooling system, pulley, headers, filters, 80 mm tb}i also believe the 480 rwhp dyno run was done with my stock wheels.
that's a 24 rwhp increase to 504 rwhp compared to the EE tune and would be greater if Vadim dynoed it with my stock wheels

Seriously running pig rich before the fix.
How does the car feel now?

The torque# on the VRP tune is lower than your initial EE tuned dyno?

my girl is driving it up for me so i will have it in a few hours. she said it feels really strong. i think i have a safe tune now and happy i didnt have any serious damage to the car. the previous tune had 539lbs of torque but if you look at the dyno it shows torque in 50 lb increments. it appears that i start real close or slightly below 550

Question

Neveo, glad things worked out for you the second time. May I ask why you went with the Euro guys in the first place?

The TQ number is lower than your stock run...
Is it because of the 20" wheels? My baseline numbers came out low too running on 20s.

they were in my backyard, they seemed very informative, a couple of good guys, always on this forum, all of the posts on this board were positive at the time and i thought i was getting a deal... the ballzy saga occured after my car was done, then other members started posting about their problems, the rest is history

the stock run was 461 lbs of torque the previous after mod dyno was 539lbs of torque. the final vrp dyno has torque at 80 mph a tad under 550lbs. for some reason it highlighted 442 at 120mph but it makes peak torque at 80mph on the dyno sheet . the 20' radenergie wheels are all show and heavy

They blew up a bunch of peoples' cars, and as a result their business blew up.

The OP in this thread dodged a bullet. He's lucky he didn't wind up with permanent damage.

the car had some power but it was spotty, gas mileage sucked, car had no power to get over 100 mph, i drive it mostly to and from work in the city and Marin. i think having the sprint booster covered up some of the problems . then things got worse and decided i needed to to take it VRP.

i guess i am one of the lucky ones from that EE saga. i am going to take it on the freeway in the morning but i will say it has way more ***** and it jolts your head back with any thing more than slight press of the pedal. having to give it gas lightly as it does break traction very easily with the yellow TC light blinking and me with a big a smile. my girl said she had it to 140 with ease on i5 but got worried about LEO so she backed it down. i'll give more details when i take it to the freeway in the morning.

another thing is the car doesnt whine all the time and idles quieter and smoothly, and gobs of power.

I bought a tune from them by EVOtech... should I be concerned??? My car seems to drive really well after the tune so I'm not sure what exactly happened with EE... Please let me know if there is anything I'm not aware of. Haven't been here on daily basis for a while, so I may have missed some things. TIA

Long story short, their tuning was harebrained and several people wound up with engine damage, transmission damage, and/or other problems. Additionally, Ballzy's car was physically damaged while in their care, and he wound up needing a new bumper for $2k.

There was like a 33-page firestorm of a thread on here that got started about it, but I think the mods deleted it or parts of it. In response, EE was giving people the run-around, blaming all the problems on the customers, refusing to pay for anything, lying, etc. Their only defense was pretty much that, in some of the cases, they managed to con a local dealer into covering the stuff they broke under warranty. Like that really makes anyone feel better.

The end of it was, 5 or 6 people were lining up to sue them, and they folded up the business before that came down the pipe. So anyway, if I were you, I'd have your a/f's checked. There were a lot of people who found out later that their cars were dangerously rich or lean, and they would have eventually killed the motor if they hadn't discovered it when they did.

There are still one or two members who like their work and swear by them, though, so it seems kind of hit or miss. Yours might be ok, but I would definitely have it checked out by someone else.

the car pulls , and pulls, and pulls .even cruising along on the highway at 65 you can give it a little gas without having to drop it down a gear and it pulls hard. it has gobs of power. the speedo starts to mimic the tach. ic pump is working as i can get on it any time and the power is still there.

only bad thing is that i should have had a cam installed when it was at VRP... the car is pumped . Vadim thanks and let me know when you have cams on sale?
