Yes, a bad mount will work fine for their application, ie measurments. Keep in mind my friend that you WILL need the tranny mount as well or you will be breaking tailcones from the tranny. You need to LOCK the entire drivetrain down, NOT just part of it or something will break. Trust me on this one. My personnel opinion is that you REALLY don't want to do this to your car. You will feel EVERY motor vibration, your car WILL start to rattle ALOT more, and you WILL loose that loveing feeling from a benz quick.

Poly mounts are REALLY just for trailored cars. I know it s_cks to replace them often, but Poly mounts are REALLY NOT streetable, IMHO.

See yeah

For a street car, SMART move my friend. They REALLY wreck your ride quality in a heart beat.

Yep. It takes time though and you need to be on top of them.
And your ride quality only change if you upgrade all poly bushings (if they available). Changing all engine mounts (incl. transmission) will definetely benefiit the performance while increasing minor vibration.

none
What about using a torque strap somewhere and retaining the stock mounts. I believe the stock mounts contain some type of dampening fluid within.

Anyways I have seen some newer type torque straps that use a dampener to allow some movement, better than the old solid chain or turnbuckle straps I have seen in some old school drag cars.

I think we had a short discussion via PM on this once before. I haven't really followed thru on my project yet but I have been leaning towards building a bracket next to the drivers side engine mount to hold a pitch mount that is used on the stock WRX Subies. It is basically like a large rubber band that keeps the engine from moving too much. I looked at some of the aftermarket solutions and they all looked pretty stiff and seemed like they would transfer too much vibration. The stock Subie pitch mount looks to be rubber isolated and would help to limit engine torque without transferring too much vibration. Obviously it wouldn't be as solid as some of the aftermarket solutions but I think it could extend the life of the factory MB mounts while still retaining a decent feel.

Of course I could be way off on this thinking.
