IC PUMP WARRANTY FIX
I have an appointment with the stealer on Monday and was looking for advice on how to present this to them to get the best response and get the IC pump replaced under warranty. They're *****s and hard to work with but their the only dealer within reasonable distance.
What I really don't want, is for them to try and duplicate the conditons that caused the failure. IE, running the car up to 125 with some service tech at the wheel. Can they diagnose the problem from from ECU?
FYI. When I first got the car I installed a Johnson 30 pump as a preventive measure. First time in for service the dealer discovered the Johnson pump and threatened to void my warranty unless it was removed. So, I put the Bosch back in. That was a year ago and no problems until this week.
As you're aware, most techs are simply parts changers, they don't know how to diagnose a vehicle; if the computer doesn't tell them anythings wrong, they think it's perfect.
We had some really hot and humid days and it did not help that the we were choking from the smoke of a swamp fire 20 miles away. I had taken the car out in the morning and after some city driving the car started to do this. I have never had it happen again, but I brought it up with the dealer when I brought my car in for the 4th time to fix the dynamic seats.
They could not replicate so they would not fix... If it is intermitten it will not pull codes. I am going to replace it before next summer.... I hate the stealer.

I've also decided that if they won't fix it under warranty I'm just going to put the Johnson back in and take it back out when I go in for service.
I really don't want to take any chances with my warranty since it goes for another 2.5 years.
