11.415!! - LET Stage 1 E55 SHATTERS world record and almost eclipses “all motor” best
I will try and make this short, but this past weekend was nothing short of AMAZING. I went to the local track near my house (ESTA) and decided to run the E. I did 3 runs, with the 3rd being my best (although the 2nd run when the car was boiling hot was also a record pass at 11.6050 @ 116.90).
Attached is my best slip. Here are the details:
.7849 ----- Reaction
1.6520 ----- 60 ft (my best)
6.8190 ----- ET @ 594 ft (my best)
7.2912 ----- 1/8 ET (all motor world record)
95.30 ----- 1/8 MPH (my best)
11.4150 ---- 1/4 ET (stage 1 world record - 2nd or 3rd all motor best)
119.71 ----- 1/4 MPH (my best)
Needless to say, I'm ecstatic!

The DA at the time of the pass (according to smokemup.com) was between +358.4 feet (at 12:54 p.m. when it was 64 degrees) and +510.7 feet (at 1:54 p.m. when it was 66 degrees), which calculates to a DA of about +434.5 feet (at 1:14 p.m. - the actual time of the pass - when it was 65 degrees). Corrected down to sea level, this pass equates to a 11.363 @ 120.269. While this is amazing, I believe the most amazing part of the pass was the 1/8 ET (7.2912 which is believed to be the fastest 1/8 for ANY "all motor (no nitrous)" E55, ALL MODS considered). Please remember, my car is simply a STAGE 1 (pulley and tune).
I must take time to thank a few VERY special people/entities who made this possible.
First, I want to thank LET and ChicagoX for making my car what it is. Their dedication to their craft is as good as it gets. And, quite frankly, to all the potential naysayers, the proof of LET's product(s) and service(s) is on the track (or in my case 5 tracks ) where it should be.
Second, I want to thank forum member AMGONER for making the trip to ESTA to focus entirely on my efforts at breaking the record for a Stage 1 E55 (which was 11.666 prior to this past weekend). His videography and commentary were spot on. And, his support after my first pass (which was my first EVER 12 second pass in this car since it has been modded - I completely BOTCHED the launch and caused my car to go into "super granny" mode) was unwaivering. You are a true friend.
Finally, I want to thank all the members who have supported my efforts at achieving my goals. I have met many of you in person over the short time I have been posting on the forums and during my trips around the country trying to find the "best track" or "best conditions" for my car. Little did I know I would break the record in my own backyard (the track is about 10 miles from my vacation house).
My entire experience this weekend ranks up there with the best of my life. I did EVERYTHING possible to protect the integrity of this experience. Several digital pictures were taken, video was perfect and there were more witnesses than I could have ever hoped for (many of the hard core racers came over to pay respect to the E after I "almost" got kicked off the track (see video) for a sub 11.499 without a roll cage). Although conditions WEREN'T optimal, they were close. And, although my burnout was one of my worst ever, the car still dead hooked and practically lifted the front tire(s) off the ground. All in all, it was about as close to a "hero run" as one could hope for.
The dragtimes submission has been sent with pics of my slip, link to my video and my dyno sheet from LET's custom tune session 5 months ago in Chicago. If anyone has any suggestions or comments on anything I missed, by all means post it up.
Time to update the "all time" list. Let the chase begin...

Did you feel your face pull back with a launch like that?
Great job driving that awesome machine !!!
EDIT: I just watched the video......WAY better than reality TV. AMGoner's commentary is as good as your reaction.
I especially like the "talking to" by the track official.

Thanks to all. I FULLY expect this experience to put the MB World on its ear with all the "talk" that has been going on lately.
Straight 93 pump (Sunoco I believe). I will say my reserve light was on during the pass, and when I drove it to the gas station afterward, my "range" meter said "0 miles" - talk about running on fumes
As far as my "tune" is concerned, I have no clue. That is what I hired LET for. However, if you have any more detailed questions, please feel free to contact them directly (forum names LET Motorsports or ChicagoX). The guys there are real world, down to earth and VERY good about getting back to people with answers.

Congrats on those awesome times. This is a perfect example of what a proper running stage 1 e55 should run with sticky tires on a good track. Great job! props to let, and chicagox! For a second I thought it was on street tires and started raise suspicion, until i seen the bfg drag radials

Very fast time, great 60ft.
Congrats to Let and Chicagox, they have proved their tune works where it matters most at the track.

I personally drove my car from upstate NY to Chicago for a long weekend which encompassed: 1) Install on day 1; 2) custom dyno tuning on day 2; and a LET co-sponsored track rental on day 3. It was the best weekend and money I have spent in a while.

Appreciate the props. I posted my dyno sheet on dragtimes. LET also has everything saved on their hard drive, so if you have any A/F or tuning questions, please feel free to contact them directly. From my understanding, my A/Fs are "well" into the safe zone. I asked for a "conservatively aggressive" stage 1 custom tune when I drove to Chicago. I am told by LET that they can get more from my car without sacrificing my A/F readings, but that I might have to give up some of my TQ gains (keep in mind I gained 100 rwtq over stock ). But, with my 60' times consistently in the mid 1.6s to low 1.7s, I wouldn't give up the grunt for anything.

Great job driving that awesome machine !!!
EDIT: I just watched the video......WAY better than reality TV. AMGoner's commentary is as good as your reaction.
I especially like the "talking to" by the track official.

The good news for me is that I have had the same mods performed on my car and it runs just as strong -- thanks Wayne and LET! Now if only I can pull those BFG's off Tracshun's car, I might get "Tracshun".
