Hey Marcus,

Interesting reading...I have actually seen your car a couple of times at AL's and fluid. (nicely done) I had a couple of questions for you.

Was this a VRP tune or the powerchip tune sold by VRP?

With my own personal experience I received exceptional results from the LET DYNO tune(s) that I have received (so much so I have the fastest C32 in the country). I had compared to other vendors tunes and the difference was hands down. I personally feel that the tunes themselves are a constantly evolving beast.

I was also curious to see if one of the dynos was run during the summer and the other during a fall day.

Also, on the dynos that you are comparing with the monster "torque curves" Is it the same mods and was that a custom DYNO LET tune?

Marcus,

Great write up and review on both tuners. This is what counts...customer service, product reliability and results. What's next?

All VRP tunes are VRP spec'd tunes that are done by Powerchip.

I agree, tunes are a constantly evolving beast.

Both charts are corrected, and both were done during cooler weather. I looked up the mean temperature for both days - the LET was done in mid April, the VRP in early October.

LET: 59F
VRP: 52F

I had the same mods for both tunes, and the guys on the east coast are also showing these monster TQ gains on the dyno charts. My problem is now, having driven both tunes, I cannot say I felt like I lost 60rwtq - I just can't. If I can be honest, I feel like the VRP tune actually pulls harder and if you look at the a/f chart, dumping all that fuel up top one would think that the leaner tune would be running stronger, and my butt dyno tells me the same.

Very curious...

I have been on the fence about getting my tune for close to 2 years now...

2 years ago.. you could not touch tuning for under $1500

Now, we are looking at $600 or less in some cases

if LET has ironed some of the wrinkles.. I would say they still have a better bargain.

I trust Victor's and Vadim's knowledge but it comes at a premium.

With this economy.. tuning my car to make extra HP is not top of the priority. (Maybe if I was single and no kids)

bottom line for me: The Price is the biggest factor, as long as there is money back guarantee for satisfaction.

Jerry. This means alot to me and I appreciate it.

I've wanted nothing but good things for you and Erick when you started up, and although we eventually ended up as "competing" companies I hold no ill-feelings against you.

Like you said: We've had our differences and what is done is done. I still wish you good luck in your venture.

There is nothing wrong with healthy competition.. It's all the B.S. that I can't stand.

Maybe one day all of us small guys will band together and really give Renntech and Kleemann a run for their money.. lol..

Victor / Vadim are great guys, and even with our differences, I consider VRP a top MB tuner.

Marcus is in good hands.

I would love to see that day! There is no reason why we couldn't do it.

Guys,

I recieved some PMs about my track outing. Unfortunately those who are here in Chicago know how windy it was this weekend, and the track wound up only allowing 1/8th mile runs due to 25mph+ crosswinds, so I did not wind up making any passes. Looking to reschedule for Nov 9th.

Will keep you all posted.

LET C32 2002
Question

I can vouch for Marcus the weather wasn't exactly drag racing type. Marcus where are you heading to maybe I will try there instead of Byron in the next week.
