CF Rear Diffuser for E55 - Help!
I just got a Carbon Fiber rear diffuser for my 2005 E55… It basically maintains the same shape and style as the OME one that is already on there… As I climbed under there I expected to see some sort of facets clips or pop-locks but there is nothing. Im assuming that the OME one is either glued or 3M taped on there. You can defiantly tell they are two separate pieces…. but I just wanted to check with you all on how to approach this before I try to anything to cause damage.
So if any of you have done this before of know what the best way of getting the old one removed, that would be great.
Also… once I get it the old one removed. What is the best produce I can get to attach the new one. I was thinking 3M double sided tape but I don’t know which one to get… there are hundreds of them….
Thank you

Here is a shot of it... sorry I couldn't get it held up to the back of the car... it was too windy and my dog was not much help.

Thank you to all who are waiting.
Fooooock.... what a pain in the *****!!
I mean, I may be partly retarded and my garage only has a limited selection on tools but it kinda went like this.....
... basically it consisted of me laying on my back or squeezed in between the garage door and the car... trying to warm this shait up with my wife’s hair dryer, which is a POS…. start pealing away this thin plastic diffuser with 3 English Bulldogs trying to lend me a hand by tasting and smelling everything they can… including me
OK…. I get the whole diffuser off (which comes off nicely in about a million peaces) and now it is time to remove the adhesive…. Talking about serious thoughts of firing up the old W211 and keeping the garage door shut… haha… I basically pealed the majority of skin off my finders and separated the skin from the nail on both thumbs and pointer fingers… and that’s with use of adhesive remover….
PS… make sure you don’t have any cuts on you hands before using that shiat… wow I wanted to scream like a little school girl.
Well… its off and the bumper is prepped for the new CF one… My boy is coming over tomorrow to lend me a hand with installing it to make sure everything lines up nicely.
Ill post some pics one it is on…. Or smashed in a million pieces if I loose my temper… haha
… all in all… I must thank Sailor Jerry for all the Rum he provided me last night!!

Ain't that the truth!!FWIW, I had a few issues with attaching the new one in some spots, where it wasn't adhering as well as I'd like (for some reason, my bottom right portion had an attitude). If you see some spots separate a little after a couple of hours, use a clamp to hold it overnight.. it made a world of difference for me.

Best of luck, shoot me some pics when you get it on.
