I believe their prices are very reasonable.

No one as far as I know has made a retro fit kit yet. It wouldn't be difficult for any competent engineer.

The most difficult part would be mounting the outlet manifold to the charger which looks very easy and remounting the clutch... Not sure about this one, haven't investigated it yet.

Interesting, I would have though that we enough aftermarket support to initialize the building or at least testing of such a kit.

I think if i was flowing as much CFM as you will be with the new pulley id want intake manifolds that are as least restrictive as possible.

It's not sucking air in thats causing the main problem but blowing it out through the restrictive SC cooler outlet manifold.

There is around 2 to 4 psi loss through the stock cooler.

Restriction through the heat exchanger here.

A bottle neck to the heads here.

This is how you need to mount the outlet manifold to the upgraded charger.

Very tight here as well...

So basically we have no options for modifying the current setup?

There are options up to around 175mm but more work needs to be done on freeing the flow between the Charger and the heads.

How far do you want to go? $$$$$

What is the final application?

SLR style Coolers with a modified out let manifold and the core deleted would be a good starting point. Like the SLR setup.

There are some already developed and published on this board.

Not sure if they worked, produced in quantity or one off customs.

Well thats what I was referring too, freeing up the restrictions. I'm willing to go a lot further than my wallet would suggest lol.

I can do a most stuff myself, which would save me tons in labor charges. Oh and I have no qualms hacking up something for the better performance either haha.

Well all this porting, grinding, drilling, adding K bell blowers and such is nice for the .05% of 55 owners that want to go that far, but I was just talking about adding a larger ASP pulley.. Hey, I love all the tech talk and pictures of blowers/intakes! Really very pricless info..

I think most 55 owners are happy with just a pulley and should be.. Great power with or whithout ECU tune as most have debated here.

My ASP 178mm made me smile and if a 181 ish makes me smile more,, then great. If I add headers on top of my 80mm TB and drop some boost, then more power to be added backfrom my larger pulley.. Most people are paying 100 per HP here ,, so if there is a 5-10hp gain,, then that is another 500-1000 bucks saved.. Why not go larger and have the LARGEST! Who really knows what the absolute best pulley size is for X mods a person has or will add?? It all changes and is changing as people add.

Just to clarify,, I have not put the larger pulley on yet.. My tire buring power comments were refering to the current 178MM pulley. Before I take this pulley off ,, I was debating on how to test. Track testing with weather station for correct D/A is what came to mind.. I am confident it will improve!!!

We have had around a minus 2000 D/A this week in Houston and if I was blosing off all this boost, then I would not hear my blower whinning liked a raped Ape all week. I mean screaming with boost!! Suiper pulley,, here I come!! Damn, I love that whine/scream! Never heard that in the heat..

My point was anything over 175 in the stock setup won't gain extra HP but it would certainly make the charger scream.

Unfortunately noise doesn't give us more HP but psychologically it may.

hence the issue with most of the asp pulley install only members...too much butt dyno influence and not enough testing (dyno, data loging, track data)

and to answer the question am running stock 18 with 295 rears

and if you want my opinion skip the whole pulley deal and go headers and 80mm tb and you wont have to worry about heat sock and ecu tuning. Then you can add the pulley and ecu as you are prety much set and will not have to redue your tune , oh and lets not forget the HE

+1!

Best sequence for gradual upgrade. Don't forget about separating the cooling circuit which is mostly labor. a budget mod with a great result, really helps that heat soak problem.

This is a great idea. I have done this on my srt6 and have effectively reduced IAT and kept more advanced timing. The I/C coolant never gets hotter than shower water no matter how hard i beat.

For the cheap price(maily labor) this mod is a must!

I do still think my modified manifolds would make more power...a lot more.

Nice porting work you did on the s/c btw.

The point is ,, I have not changed my pulley yet.. I have a 178mm ASP and getting READY to change to a larger/newer model.. I am surely not baseing HP gains on butt-o meter or S/C scream.. Justing using those descriptions to show that dyno numbers don`t always add up.. My S/C is screaming from the Density altitude changing 4000 plus ft... If I was blowing off all the extra air density/boost,, then car should run the same in hot and cold technically? None of us seem to feel that.. We all gain power with Minus D/A..

Add a new reservoir. Disconnect the inlet / outlet hoses from the radiator reservoir and connect them to the new one. Plug up holes, rewire to run when car is on, and us a good pump and he.
GO!
