The highest I've seen in the SL600 was 145mph but that was after I lifted & glanced down at the speedo, I'm certain she was close to the 155 limiter.
In my old modded C6 I was racing some guy in an Audi S6, I flew past him and the damned C6 felt like she was about to lift off the ground, when I finally had the ballzz to look @ the HUD/speed it read 184 mph, i'm betting I hit 190+ before I lifted & looked @ speedo.
The C6 Corvette felt very loose/floaty @ those speeds, I NEVER took her up that high again, in contrast the SL600 feels like a battleship! steady as a rock @ 1xx mph... I will deff be testing her after ECU/TCU to see if she can reach the 200 club

2005 E55, 2000 CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
I did hit 181 mph on the bike once. I let off cuz I was coming up to a bend in the highway and wasn't comfortable taking it at that speed. At 181 it was still pulling when I rolled off the throttle.

In the E55 - 155 MPH per speedo and dash display a couple weeks ago on I-15 on the way to Lost Wages....assume it was limiter-restriced as it pulled like a freight train until then...bone stock. You guys with higher speeds have modded ECU's, I assume?
Otherwise, I have run just over 206 at Bonneville in a factory modded Isuzu Impulse turbo 4WD, well under the class record but still fast enough in a relatively stock short wheelbase sedan...and pretty close to 200 on the back straight at RIR (Riverside Raceway - RIP) in a 924GTR and my old 934/935 clone many moons back (no speedo, but calculated on gear ratio/corrected tire diameter/RPM)...

Barry - most that are getting over 155 have modded ECU's, but dont forget about the AMG cars with the 030 Sports Package option. This version comes standard from the factory with the speed limited set at 186mph! Just and FYI

I hit 200mph in my Z06 a few times http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIDk4hERnpw very uneventful as I seriously bet I could have gone up to 210+ easily but I don't have any local roads that are long enough for it.
I witnessed a modded E55 go to around 180mph when racing a bike. I also know a bunch of M guys who have taken their M5/M6's past 200mph. I've only hit about 150 or so in the M5...haven't really gotten the time to test it out; just occassionaly having fun on the commute to work.
I wonder how the top end of the E63 is? Will it hit 200? Unfortunately, the limiter must be removed and that usually means it is modded though.

- swapped the 160mph E55 IC out for a 200mph E63 IC
- removed Vmax in the ECU with my stardiagnose (have pictures of that)
- found a nice long and empty stretch of road
- did 1 run from 0 to 312kmh (on video)
- did a second run from 0 to 193mph (also on video)
poor quality thanks to youtube, but: youtube movie
...so basically 312kmh - 193mph...and that does feel fast and def. NOT comfortable (and I am used to 200kmh speeds)...It takes about 55 seconds to get to Vmax (less then a minute)...
Impressive acceleration from 0 to 140mph...140mph to 170mph acceleration is not too bad...barely going any faster at all after 180mph.

ive done 225ish in my supra, 5th gear and 8900rpms. I've also hit my limiter on my E55 at 157mph

It's amazing how at even high speeds the car keeps surprising you by continuing to pull like a bat out of hell. The speedo keeps rising and you keep thinking "it'll slow down at 100", and then it just keeps going, It's really amazing how well it pulls up top and thats not even its strong point.

finally got up early enough to see how fast i can get it up to on sunday....and turns out it gets to 155 a lot sooner then i thought.....damn gov...need to get rid of that.... a lot more in it for sure...
