*** ECU DUMP UPDATE ***
First off I would like to give a BIG THANKS to James from:

He came to my place of work about 6pm (major traffic time here in S.D) with all his fancy Tuning tools and computer stuff He wanted to see if he could fix my ECU or at least help some how. He removed my ECU, opened it up and reflashed it right there on my office desk Well, he put it all back together, installed it in my car and The Beast started right up and it has been fine ever since. We are not sure what happened to the ECU but whatever James did seems to have done the trick Again a BIG THANKS to James from ACGSD for his help. The best part is he did all this on his own without invoce or $$ NOW that's some great PR work
I now have two brand new ECU's and will be coding them on Monday morning and getting one tuned and leaving the other one stock.. Also a BIG THANKS to Andy from MHP for getting me an ECU so fast. These two Tuners have all the CLASS we can ask for here on the forun, They both stepped up
Thanks James great job.. and Andy for lightning fast ordering, If his tune is as FAST as his customer service it should be BADD AZZ

I am going to have Andy try to reflash my broken ECU then and see if she comes back to life as well.
Then I will have 3 ECU's total. One Kleemann, one VRP and one MHP. Gonna need a bookshelf or something soon.

WOW! Big props to that company in SD for going out of his way and getting the ECU fixed for you. That is really rare to find these days and to top it off it was free.

A question about multiple tune ECU's.
How does this work? Let's say I drop tuner X ECU in my car, then 2 months later, switch to tuner Z, then back again. Tuned ECUs seem to perform better after 200 miles or so, if you pull one out will it retain it's adaptations, or do you get to start fresh again?
Just curious, as it seems that aside from the expense, you could have several "perfected" tunes for different occasions, octanes or even mods (not that you pull mods on & off frequently). What's the scoop?

If I understand it correctly, the MHP ECU/TCU tune is the only one that needs time to adapt becasue of the TCU changes. All other ECU only tunes should be the same the instant they are installed and require no adaptation.

You are correct about having spot on tunes for different occassions (pump gas v race gas, etc.) there are no limitations as far as that is concerned other than the amount of $ you want to spend on spares.

They all need to learn regardless of tuner or even what the tuner says. Confusing topic because even some tuners will say they are 100% right away but the customers completely disagree.
I know rarfinancial has had the same experience with his tunes.

James is a cool guy. He drove up to Irvine when he found out about my pulley failure. Too bad i couldn't find him anyplace when it came time to pay for his damages.
Anyone but Rick and I would be calling BS all over but I do think that James has been great to Rick.

If a gasket is thick enough to drop static C/R into the 9s I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
A phenolic (wooden) spacer used as a head gasket would make for a novel concept.
I'm not a nitrous guy myself, but you cannot deny it's effectiveness especially when used on a solid N/A platform. These motors take naturally to nitrous and when properly tuned will make incredible power and TQ.
Spraying and boosting a 11.3:1 motor on CA 91 would be like strapping yourself down and flipping the switch.
