Quote: That sucks that Jon bought all that food and nobody except MJ showed up. Hope it didn't go to waste though.
No, but I will be eating hot dogs and hamburgers for the next 2 weeks.

MJ and I did not really touch the food. After all, I am usually hungry after sex, and these cars were almost as good as sex.

Wow, awesome pics!

MJ, from the pics I'm guessing this was almost as fun as the time you got to spend in Fresno on the way up north?

Re the 65 black cars at L.S. Yes, the power was impressive but I was somewhat disappointed in the driving and modest times. The driver acknowledged that by him drifting it was more fun than hitting the proper apexs & he also admitted that he could go faster without drifting. I should hope so, his times for the 1st 2 laps were between 1:49-1:50 and I've done better than that in my 1987 Porsche 944 turbo.

Thanks for sharing, it was enjoyable.

- if they were to trap best lap time, they'll let professional driver do it... these "drivers" are actually engineers who prolly learned to drive on track simply for R&D purposes....

First off, we never saw one of the pro's driving the SL65 other than maybe for some filming. I have no doubt the chief engineer and the other driver in their nomex suits would have the car going MUCH faster. As for the CLK63 rides, that was playing.

I am speechless. That must have been an amazing time. I have driven the track about 6 times in 6 different cars. Not in my black yet but plan to do so very soon. Wish I knew you guys were going up. I would have come along. OH WELLLLLL.... Thank you for sharing all the pictures. They are great.

Because they figured if you can afford the $2750 per person for the event, you could afford the $400 for the air fare.

I also find it amazing that given what we posted, no one else from the bay area has decided to go down there some afternoon and watch and talk to the guys from AMG. They will be there through this Sunday, although Sat and Sun would be the worst days to go and epect to talk to anyone since those are the days they are hosting the paying customers.

Quote: SLK55 Black Series

Okay, now I am very excited. Any idea what's under the hood? I could get very interested in this car if it is tuned like the CLK63 BS and has a fixed top.

That is the SLK55 Black Series from two years ago.

It has a 400 HP tuned engine.....

They have a bunch of pictures of it over on the Private Lounge from a couple of years ago.
