AMG badge fell off my seat back!

Has this ever happened to anyone?

Attempts to super glue/glue gun this back on have been unsuccessful.

What is the proper way to fix this? Both dealer and Independent MB shops don't have a clear answer.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Gorilla Glue will hold anything. Even Mercedes parts. Just use a small dab.

Wish I could say it's a piece of cake to pop another one on.

Just not.

Happened to me. The new badge has these 2 long prongs on the back that go into the seat and then bend to lock it in place.

Tech has to take the back off the seat to get at it.

He does them all the time and when he says, "It's a pain", that scares me.

He said the same thing about the MAP sensor and it took me literally ALL weekend to do. DON'T EVER TRY THE MAP SENSOR AT HOME!!!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I'm gonna try some silicon epoxy at work tomorrow, then the gorilla glue.

If all else fails, I guess I'll have to "go in"

If you have ventilated seats its a pain in the a@#. The backrest leather has to come off. If no ventilation in seats than about 45min to get it done.

gorilla glue... maybe.

I just used Shoe Goo to fix some shoes and that stuff is insane. You may want to compare both glues in a hidden location and see which one you feel will work better.

If you're going to glue it CAREFULLY clean the leather and back of the badge with isopropyl alcohol first. That will improve the chance of a lasting adhesion.

My seat was missing the AMG emblem as well. You have to buy a new one seeing by your pic.Its like 50bucks at the dealer and cost me another 40 to get it put installed.

I've lost both of mine and had basically the same dealer experience. Why the hell can't they engineer one to stay on better than that?

According to the picture it looks like it was glued on also. No indication of holes for the long prongs....

Yeah, that is weird. Does look glued or something.

Here is what the prongs look like.

Update on the AMG badge/seat

So here's what I ended up doing that seems to be working well so far. A quick and cheap solution...

I used silicon due to it's pliable nature. It handles the flex of getting in and out of the seat better than glue.

After applying the silicon to the back of the badge, take a stick (approx 2.5 ft or so) and wedge it between the badge and steering wheel. Use the power seat function to apply adequate pressure and let dry for a few hours. Pull the seat back and the badge should be securely fixed.

If you remove the rear panel on the seat(2 T20 torx screws at the bottom, then pull down to remove) and unhook the leather from the frame. Carefully pull the leather forward and you can fish your hand up to retrieve the old parts. Then feed the new piece into the leather and slide the retaining plate over the prongs inside the seat. Then push on the AMG emblem to achieve the desired inset in the leather. Fold the pins over in the retaining plate and try to slip them into the opposite pins hole in the plate to lock it in place. With a little finesse it can be done in about 30 minutes.

Just use super glue...just a little bit. It does the trick. When I bought mine, both sides were missing. I used a 3D printer and made me a couple...painted them black, and voila!

I really wanted them to match the ABS badges...I think it worked well.

Interesting. It looks as if the 2014 S63 AMG seat logos are no longer recessed. Maybe due the existing ones coming off from the tension?

I ended up replacing mine as they fell off. It wasn't all that bad and didn't take too long to replace. If anyone in dc metro area needs help, I can show you how its done.

The rear seat in that S63 looks absolutely amazing. I want one as my office chair.

The "shell" on the backs of our seats come off pretty easily. Two torx bolts on the bottom. You might be able to gently cut into the padding to get to the prongs. While you're in there, upgrade your cooling fans.

Dealer has part

Sorry to revive a 4 year old post... But, I have the same issue with the AMG emblem falling off. Are these still available to be purchased? Any suggestions on a source? Does anyone have a part number? I have a call into my dealer, but I am not hopeful.

As luck would have it, dealer has the part for the low low price of $62. Looks like I will attempt to glue it back on.
