Radar Detector?
Stinger claims "longest radar detection available"
Has anyone had the opportunity to play with one of theses?

I went to the link you provided, after talking to some of the local retailers I managed to find out from www.radarsdirect.com.au that the STINGER dsi will not protect you from radar threats up from 35.2Ghz, the stinger computer is an awesome radar detector if the radar threats in your state are under 35 Ghz as the stinger's range in the ka band is limited.

I have the passport SR7 in my E55 and it is truly amazing. I've named it "Larry". And there are times when Larry detects things a mile down the road.
Funny it actually took some getting used to, my previous suction style was a Passport 9500IX and it would basically just detect things as you were getting right up on them so I would POUND the brake pedal and do the "front end dive" thing...
Now, When Larry chimes in I just let off of the gas.

I will be getting a V1 soon.

usually they don't....for some reason i got pulled over. I think he may just wanted to check out the car. I was coming back from brownsville tx (near mexico border) going home to houston. There are alot of drugs being smuggled and illegals.
That damn laser gun gets me all the time. And they use it on small streets now too. *******s lol.
The V1 unit is concealed too - in my headrest. I get good detection still of radar, obviously laser is not detected because it's line of sight. Laser detection is kind of a moot point anyway with a laser jammer, you really need the combo of V1/jammer to be effective.
I really like the V1, much more than the Escorts. The arrows are really neat - and on the L mode I actually found that I get very few false alerts.
