04 - 06 e55 Wagon - looking for
Why all of a sudden today more e55 listings on Craigslist?

As some of you know, I've been in the market for a pre-owned Wagon. So my daily activity consists of browsing the usual car sites i.e., Autotrader, Craigslist for the most part. I stay away from Ebay, though wouldn't rule it out if the seller is reputable. It normally takes me about 5 minutes to browse all of California major cities for e55 listings. Today, it took me more than twice as long to browse Craiglslist. There are three times (3x) as many listings and I'm seeing more private, small dealer and small time broker postings.

Is this typical for November (excluding the economy) as the 09 models come out in September 08?

SOLD 04 E55 Now 93 w124 3.2 sold W210 E55 sold waiting on W211 E63 p030
I believe it has to do with 09 models about to be released. I am in the market for an e55 for about a little over 8 months now, and I can tell you that a $29000 w211 e55 was rare, now there a dime a dozen. I cant wait till next year.... I think I will be able to get a decent 04-05 for low to mid twenties. I cant wait!!

Be carful, you get what you pay for. I'm pretty clued in on wholesale pricing and I would pay more for a car with known history. When cars get past around from auction to auction, dealer to dealer, it is hard to get original service work orders deaker performed or third party. I've talked to a few MBZ dealers and they are not willing to share any factory service history for the cars they were sellign over the phone. I had one sales person tell me on the display screen it says 'FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY' thus he wasn't going to share. This is hard because Wagons are few and far between so my geographical search is nationwide. I'm sure if I were at the lot in person, they would would be willing to share. Though I haven't walked into my MBZ dealership to ask if they are willing to share what is in their system yet. I may want to try that next. Good luck.

The economy is in the dumps. People cant afford all their toys anymore and they need to get access to cash. The car is normally the first thing to be sold as its fairly liquid and easy to sell.

I think people are losing their jobs each day. Sad but likely true.

We are also having cars come off lease about now. 05 and 06 cars are coming back to the market.

E-ZGO 53hp., 1999 E 430 sport, 2004 E 55, 2008 Tahoe LTZ on 24"s
Bought on credit blues, anyone that uses a financial instrument to purchase an E55 will find themselves upside-down as these cars depreciate faster than they can be payed off. It is ashame that easy credit allows people that could not otherwise afford the finer things undermine the true value, this is a sign of the times. Weak hands make for some really great deals, IE. Johnny sells his 18K Rolex Daytona for 6K cash but still owes $13k on it, Bad move on the purchase Johnny and bad move on the sale too. Hold on guys it is gonna get better for the ones with CASH!

I know a little OT, but here is my +/- 20 year old Rolex Submariner purchase for $2K that I will never sell. I don't have that much discretionary income for a Daytona

Primarily economy, but lease returns are up there too.
