Ouch, that sucks! SO any of you guys going for sub 11.4s records should look at the scoreboard for your 60' times during the run (if they post that info at Famoso), if it isnt good, LET OFF! Good luck guys

There will only be 15 cars max so unlimited runs.

If you think Famoso was hard to hook , you will be ice skating up in Sacramento. That is the poorest track in the State , yes it is fast but you have a 20% chance perhaps less of a good 60ft.

Our best times are at Famoso, you and I did it the same day, it was amazing.

12.1 vs 12.4 in Sac

I think with the proper tire set I go 11.89
Josh, That would be awesome to see you run. Even if I don't maybe I will come just to watch! I'm just not sure if I can make the commitment till after my Dec 6th Sacramento run. (Terry is going up there with me). I changed from the JB2 to the JB3, In the cool air, down at sea level, I have been running 117mph traps! If Famoso would open for runs earlier than 10am that would be big. But I never see them doing that. They just made us wait 3 hours before they would let us start our runs!

We have the same problems as you. The guys on the East Coast are running in 35-45F temps with DAs of 2000 feet below sea level! Hard to compete with that. However, if Famoso would open at 8am, the temps will still be in the 40s possibly. Sacramento has good DA, but their test and tune runs from 12p-4pm Saturdays. Temps around mid 50's to 60's .

So do you think they will prep the launch pad better this time. VHT or something? It was awesome last time you and I went, but terrible earlier this month. I get better launches on the street with street tires than I could with ET Streets at that track earlier this month.

I'm still waiting on confirmation from Famoso management to find out how early we can start. I've stressed the "starting early" point repeatedly during my last conversation with the owner, and he didn't seem to mind. I haven't been able to get hold of him in the last week or so, as they've been extremely busy, but I'll try to get a definite answer for you guys by Monday/Tuesday of next week. By the way, temps that day should NOT exceed 55 F, which is still decent.

Updated list:

1) Juicee63 - CLS63 - VRP/Weight Saving Mods
2) MB_Forever - E63 - Stock
3) rarfinancial - CLS63 - RennTech/MHP
4) Shawn - E55 - Stage 3
5) URnext - SL55 - Stage 5
6) TravisLM - M6 - Dinan Stage 1 + Custom Mods
7) NewC32AMG - C32 Modified
8) sticky2

The LSX people would only let LSX's or other American POS's go (just kidding.)

The MBworld people are not that ignorant (just kidding again) and allow others to join in on the fun.

You are absolutely right. Rex (from LS1GTO) said if I went in my BMW, he would have all the other people he turned away coming after him for blood! By the way, they had like 60 people there, and people could make as many runs as they wanted. People made over a dozen runs. The cost per car at the GTO event was $100. So if there is any way to get the price down to $200 or less, I am sure you could get a few dozen more participants. I could post up in the BMW forum. Terry and I are definitely going to Sacramento this weekend (800 mile trip!). But we really like how nice your members are, and we would love to come to your event also, if it were a little cheaper.

I am so excited after 6 months waiting and waiting, I gotta hit 11's and then I can relax......

You and Terry are awesome and it would be great for both of you to be there to see the first 11 second pass by a 4400 lb 4 door coupe. Despite all the 63 records falling hard and fast apparantly there are no CLS models back east. LOL, so we can perhaps recapture ONE record.

Your guys picked the perfect weekend. The temps are down about 10 degrees that weekend compared to this weekend and next. I might be in Sacramento that weekend, but Terry seems interested in going to your event possibly. I am just busy studying the weather charts, LOL.

You can see the temps in the chart here. Just hope the rain doesn't come early! (Its supposed to rain on Sunday)

Believe me..... lots of thought was put into that date It took a month of looking into so many different weather data programs plus analyzing a lot of different sources. I just hope things go as planed.

Actually, you ARE correct. Juicee and I tried to join their event, but the guy saying no repeatedly. He said the event will be limited to LSx cars ONLY except for the very few who signed up while the event was still being setup

Guys, please note..... there will NOT be paying at the gate. There will only be one person at the gate with a list of names and cars. He/She won't be responsible for collecting any money; all they'll do is match your driver license and your car to a name on the list. If you're on the list, they'll let you in, otherwise not.
I'm sorry, but these are their rules. I imagine the reason we can't pay at the door is because they want the money prior to committing employees, ambulance, etc..... Since this is an off season time, most of the staff is normally reduced. Can you imagine if they commit their resources, and allow people to pay at the gate, then only 1/4 of the people show up? Who'll pay the rest?
We need to collect the money by the 8th (1week prior to event), as I have planned to meet with the owner and give him the money on the 9th.

Spots will be given based on first-come-first-serve basis. The first 10 cars to pay and register are guaranteed a spot. All cars above the 10th car, I'll try hard to get them in probably up to 15 cars at MOST.

By the way, if you feel more comfortable paying in person, you can meet me at the track on the 9th as I meet the owner and pay the money.

I know the feeling. If I could get a 1.72 60' time again, I think I would be in the 11's this time around. I have a little more power this time than when I ran the 12.17. Im trying to get in the 11's with as much stock as possible. (Factory airbox, intercooler, exhaust, etc). Traction is the key element here!

I tried the same thing, they wouldn't let me go. This event is great! Not to mention less people, I can't wait. Now, I just have to come up with another 50 wheel hp before the 16th.

I wonder how the track is going to prepped? I am thinking of ordering some VHT.

Take out your passenger seat, spare tire/jack/pump, floor mats and 15lbs of crap we all have thrown in trunk and glove boxes, drain your windsheild washer fluid (8.2 pounds/gallon), remove your air filters and find some 99 or 100 race fuel (1/4 tank of course). HP does not get any cheaper than that. Those free mods just bought you at least 1/10th.

Josh, I can send you some lightweight wheels to use, unfortunatley I'll be busy washing my hair until the 14th but will get them out to you immediately after.
Best of luck to all the attendees!

How's the weather/DA looking?

You forgot about the most important mod of all: the driver mod. In addition to what Jim mentioned above, get a 100 lbs driver

LOL.....

DA is fluctuating badly over here, but hopefully will catch at least an hour of decent DA for California.
