M6 vs Sun's modded E55

Hanging out with my MB boys last night we had some friendly runs in Mexico from Long Tijuana to Sunset in West Acapulco. Me and Sun ran 4 times but we had some trouble with our shift points and listening to honks

End result from around 60 to 120ish, we would be about dead even until I shifted (was in S6) where I would lose a 1/4 car length but then regain it as the engine spooled up, I think he had half a car length at 120ish but it was evident that I would reel him after that if the race had continued.

It's a bit confusing considering he should be putting down 500 to the wheels so something may be wrong with his 55.

Sun's 55 has TB, headers, Pulley, ECU, no post cats and resonator, UD pulleys...not sure if I'm missing anything. I have my post cats and resonator cut but completely stock besides that, still have my charcoal filters in as well.

Videos next time for sure, sorry guys.

Definitely good times Alex!

We need to go do what we talked about to compare. Then well really see if it's just my car that's acting weird or you have mods that you don't know about...

The funny thing is like you said, my car has held it's own compared with a whippled' 560 whp cobra (down 1/5-2 cars to 140...in mexico of course ) and even held dead even with Ed's car (which is one of the fastest E55k's in socal that I know of )...

I would have thought Sun could/would have pulled better--- The M6 has 7 speeds and is a manual for all intensive purposes. This means less parasitic/DT loss and if the M6 can run in its sweet spot it will shine (above 6k rpms). The car is lighter too which should make up some more time. From a dig its a no brainer as the modded 55 should pull.

Alex, you and I should run soon....

Mexico is always open and I live right there ...

My 20's are a hinderance along with the exhaust (tq loss) but the pulleys, scoops, filter, ecu combo should help. I pulled about 1/2 to 3/4 car on the Dinan S3 (or S2) M5 which had TB's, filters, intake, full exhaust, ECU, light HRE C series 19's, and few other minor mods... the vids are here somewhere.

Sun your exhaust has to hurt a little in the TQ dept- its not optimal.

From a dig vs trizzles SL55 I am even and then jump ahead in 2nd gear so Sun should murder me from a dig.

We need to run for sure although my fat *** does weigh 2x you Vic Lets run soon if possible, I'm up any day/time pretty much and I want to run before I put in scoops/pulley/filters.

The sneaky reset won't make that big of a difference. Also, as easy as the AMGs are to drive fast, they are hard to push on rolling pulls.

I think Alex needs to run more of the OC guys before Sun trips out (poor guy finally modded). Hanging with the Silver Bullet (bluemonster's 55) is good. that car is fast.

Nice to see Alex enjoying the M

I want accurate results as well so I can see what I get out of mods besides but dyno and an actual dyno...how it plays out on the street is the end result and to me the most important and indicative of gains/losses. I'm trying to setup a race between a flashed 996 Turbo S Cab and a colleagues GTR.

I also raced a M6 from a roll in my modded 55. Its safe to say Sun and I have similar mods, other than the trunk cooler. 55s even stage 5 55s, can not hang with an M6 from a roll. Those darn things just shift waay too fast. It makes sense that you didnt beat Murtaza by a lot. I raced an M6 back to back (in mexico) 5 or 6 times, and the end result was the same every time. So, I wouldnt get discouraged, as the SMG is simply far superior to our 5 speeds, especially from a roll. That M6 had a carl ength or more on me everytime going from 40-160.
The only chance we would have in our current state of mods is from a dig, as the M6 would be playing catch up.
just my 2 cents

Sun, your car is a monster. However the M6, with a driver that knows what hes doing (shifting) is going to be very hard to beat

Interesting...I'm glad you chimed in Ed. Glad to hear your results as I was beginning to trip and wondering if something was wrong. ( Not that I'm doubting anything Serge has done cause I know he knows his stuff) but I was in disbelief in the beginnning...I know the SMG's are awesome but didn't know it would help out THAT much!!!

I wonder what the outcome would have been if there was an SMG in the benzo too?

Ahhhh....whateverz...Alex wait til next summer...then we go again!

I was shocked and a little pissed off myself that daywhen I got the pouncing from the m6.
That same day another board member also came along in a 215cl 65

Same race 40-150 the cl would have me by a car and a half consistently 3-4 runs
I finally got the cl to race from a dig on the Last run wewent 0-160
And I beat him by a car length.
Next time go from a dig and watch alex play catch up until about 140 or so
