My MIR experience

First of all let me start by saying thank you to Ahmad and anyone else involved in organizing the event. I had the pleasure of meeting many interesting people with completely different personalities, all sharing the same passion. In all that passion, some of our differences tend to be more pronounced than our similarities, but all good people nonetheless.

I drove my car from Chicago with my good friend Martin who has been a tremendous help in getting the car to its current performance level. He has assisted in the intercooler development along with myself and Victor. He has spent countless hours under the hood and on his back under my car until the wee hours of the morning. All in the name of performance. I am very happy with the performance of the car and that all of our combined dedication and commitment yielded such fantastic results.

Big thanks to Victor at VRP. Him and Vadim are always there to assist and support their customers. Big props to them both. There has been much talk about the "Powerchips" tune and what it may be lacking and that it can be blown away etc. I don't care to talk about the VRP (Powerchips) tune in great detail because I feel I don't have to. My car ran 10.73 at 130.76 mph. It drives like stock until you mash the pedal. It is a very safe tune as I have taken the car to 190 MPH on pump gas without logging any knock. What more would you want from a tune? Exactly.

I would also like to commend Andy from MHP for an exhausting and frustrating effort to provide me with a TCU upgrade in time for the event. We have had to overcome the initial shipping mishap and 3 attempts at getting the TCU to take the tune. Dave from B&G worked tirelessly for countless hours trying to install the very complex calibration I had requested. By no means an easy task. I am disappointed that after all of our combined efforts we were NOT able to come out with a TCU that was able to provide me with any benefit. It is safe to assume that the TCU did NOT take the tune as my data logging is identical with both my stock TCU and all the TCU's I had installed in my car from Dave/MHP. Andy had the final TCU delivered to the Hotel on Saturday. I installed it and called him right away and told him that there is no change and this TCU also did not take the tune. I could tell in his voice how sorry he was. He apologized to me many times and more importantly, I saw he genuinely felt bad. That goes a long way with me. I know he comes of very harsh and rubs people the wrong way. I personally am not a big fan of big talk and bashing others. I do not judge him for that. He has always returned my calls, been upfront about everything that has been going on (mostly out of his control) and has made every attempt at correcting the wrongs that were bestowed upon us all. I believe he has a great product and that Dave is a great tuner. In my case, unfortunately, I was unable to benefit.

It was great to put a face to some of the names. It was a true pleasure meeting everyone. I only have one regret and that is that I didn't have enough time to spend with some of the guys I met. A great group of people.

jrcart "Jim" Where do I start? Jim is quite possibly the most interesting person I have met in a very long time. He has the heart of a lion. He will give you the shirt off his back if you need it and will go out of his way for you in a second. He comes off strong-minded and sometimes arrogant, but always straightforward. My experience with him was extremely positive. I read his posts now and they make a lot more sense to me now that I know him. I can't explain it, call me crazy, but you just have to get to know Jim.

JAYCL600 Jayson
One driving ****!! He gets in my car and rips off a 10.77@129.10. Hell of a nice guy and very pleasant to be around and talk to. He is an asset to the community and will go out of his way to help people with their cars. I wish we would have had time to go for a few drinks!!

TMCM5 Tom

I'm glad you decided to come out. It was a pleasure meeting you and that adorable little girl of yours. I hear you're only .08 behind Jayson when it comes to driving....Maybe I should have given you my car for a pass!!!!!

Ahmad seems like a nice guy who has had it up to HERE with organizing events. I would be too!! I didn't get a chance to really talk to him but I want to commend him on his record run and expect great times from his car in the future.

JT
Great looking car, great results for your first time to the track. Great tan too! I'm jealous

I'm looking forward to the next event have have a few plans for the car which should produce some very impressive numbers. Thanks again to everyone. It was a pleasure.
