Whoa! Awesome launch, Ahmad!

That's lower than anything on Dragtimes (Best = Lou Fishgold's 1.583)

What was the ET?

Thanks!

Almost all my passes had 60's less than that

Oddly enough it was my slowest ET of the day (at least from the slips I have) 11.312 @ 122.13

Ahmad's 5 best 60 ft times at ATCO on 11-28-2008:
1.557 .564 .568 .601 .668

He did achive (3) faster 60' times then Lou Fishgold's 1.583

When we ran I jumped him by .546, but by the 1/8 he made up the hole shot and went cruising by me to a 11.159 at 122.22 MPH run

His car is a cosmetic twin to the 2001 Black Opal CLK55 I had in 2001. But the fastest it every went at ATCO was 13.03 at 108.78.

Congrats again! We need to find a track still open in a couple weeks...anything further south that might still be open? We should road trip it

Thanks. For those passes I power braked to between about 1500 to 2000 rpm and once the car starts moving go quickly and smoothly to the floor. I tried launching harder to go tens by launching at 2000rpm and going straight to the floor. Tires stuck but axles couldn't handle the torque. I have a modified torque converter which allow sme to launch at a higher rpm..

I'm glad the stealer is actually covering it under warranty. I think I'm done with the track until I get custom axles. Changing axles at the track is no fun

No way! I was on mickey thompson ET street radials (Not to be confused with the bias ply ET streets) which are by far the stickiest drag radial I have used and I recommend it to everyone. Just be ready to break stuff lol. Luckily I brought two spare axles with me

You can use my wheels/tires if you want to test em out. Something might break though if you leave too hard. Traction is definitely no longer an issue

Ahmad you like the ET Street radials more that the ET street? Maybe I will mount these? Do you have em on a 16" or 17" I think my prob is no custom rears.I use a 17' rim 17x9

Crud the tire set up is the most difficult decision, egads.

I will check out the "other" MT.

Once again AMAZING 60ft, THE BEST ANY STREET LEGAL BENZ HAS GONE

ET streets are a bias ply tire that shouldn't be mixed with radial tires in the front. If you are running ET streets you should have skinnies in the front. Et streets are stickier than the radial versions. I am running 16" wheels with 255/50/16 MT ET Street Radials. You can technically run the ET Street Radials on the street. When I drove my car ~3hrs to the track the only adjustment I made was swapping rear wheels/tires. I even had to leave the track to get gas (wad very odd because I went to three gas stations and they all had a max of 92 octane ). Came back and went straight to the staging lanes and ran a nice pass (I think it was the 11.1 pass but dont quote me on that, I dont remember exactly). When I talked to Mickey Thompson they said there isn't much of a difference betwen the available sizes for out cars in the ET Street Radial. You could even run a 265/40/18 and they would probably stick. I think I may actually try that since I have some of those very light 18" Kosei wheels

Thanks!

Thanks, so do I! Tens without a question and the 55 record. I sent out my axles to BuilderBill a few eeks ago. Unfortunately he says he wont have materials until January. I could go out to MIR for a test and tune and give it another shot but its a major PITA to change axles at the track

Ahmad,
What's the deal on the trick TQ converter in your car?

It shoots your CLK55 outta hole like a rocket launcher.

Nothing wrong with mixing ET Streets (or Hoosier QTP DOT) with radials in the front, most guys I know run them with stock radials up front. I've been doing it for years and drive to/from the track without changing tires. My car on an easy 1.58 launch http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0/DSC01835.jpg it has been 1.47 60ft, not bad for a lil' v6. ET Street's tend to be more consistant than ET Street Radials but the radials tend to mph and sometimes ET better due to less rolling resistance.

Shooting you a pm now. That wasn't even it's full potential. I have vid of when I broke my axle and I was going to launch it hard. The car would have cut an awesome short time if the axle didnt break! The vid is too large to upload though

I guess you know more than Mickey Thompson Straight from their site:

"CAUTION: It is not recommended that radial and non-radial tires be mixed on the same vehicle.."

When did I say can't? You can do whatever you want to your car, does your car not get squirrely on the top end of the track? You are obviously running an inherent risk of damage to the car when drag racing which is why it isn't recommended.
