link to 2006.2
Don't know if mods allow this....but here is a torrent link to 2006.2
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3964...2006.2_DVD.zip
For those who are updating from 2005 or earlier, you'll also need these:
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3972...1_589_14_22_00
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4019...on_Service_DVD
I too would like to get the 2008 version, if someone would PM me.

To save money, I would guess....someone could just download it, park it, wait a few weeks, and with freshly-updated AV files scan it...by that time, any hidden new threats should have been discovered.
Or, they could just go buy the damn thing!!
Well, if someone's not maintaining their AV files through frequent updates, then they're going to get zapped eventually anyway.

I bought my first update DVD at the dealer in '06. I think it was the only choice, don't know if you can get them through Navteq or not.

Yeah, lol, I just realized that BUT if it's the same price as the dealer (don't know) I'll just go there. I know I had to get something updated for the 2006 DVD to work so, hopefully the '08 will be plug and play.

You spend this much on a car and steal $200 worth of work product.
Amazing. I assume all of you sharing the disks are more than willing to let me come into your place of work and help myself to anything that you have, right?
Navteq does a lot of work to keep the maps accurate. It is their business. You're stealing. Feel free to rationalize it any way you want, but it is STEALING plain and simple.
The earlier Microsoft example is particularly ridiculous. Microsoft DOES charge for new releases of their Operating system. Windows 3.1, Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, Vista. They weren't free.
Spend the money folks. $200 won't kill ya.

I've always bought upgraded discs when I felt I needed them and have never used a burned disc.
However, I think much of the motivation to "steal" the info is that $200 is an outrageous price for the disc, "updated" or not. You can buy a $200 complete GPS system (not disc) that is much more accurate than what Navteq/MB provides. If these discs were $50-$80 from MB or Navteq I don't think anyone would feel cheated.
As far as how well they are updated; my subdivision has been around since '99, it took Navteq until the 2007 release to figure out there were roads there, and I'm in the city limits, 3 miles from the center of town. Every GPS in other cars knew about it, what took Navteq so long?

My in-laws live in a retirement community built 30 years ago. NavTeq still doesn't have it.
I live in a development ten years old. Navteq still doesn't have it. Every other map and GPS I've tried does. Pathetic. These upgrades should be free for the so called effort they put into it.
