Try BF Goodridge tdw gforce tires, they are cheap and grip awesome. They also have a good tread life, mine have lasted me 5000 miles on the back and over 8000 on the front. I guess with this car, the milage your front tires get is the actual life of the tires, somehow the rear tires have this smoking problem that kills their life span.

NEXENs SUCK BIGtime!!!!
my friend HAD them in 18s on the rear of his E500 and those lost grip in every curve while accelerating and after that he HAD them in 19s on the front and grip was nowhere to be found
nice tires for people that only go in straights
greetingz,

I have these on my 18" stock wheels (previous owner bought them) and I have to say they really are not bad. I would not track the car with them, but for every day use they are fine.
I have Toyo T1Rs on my 19" wheels and can tell they have MUCH better grip.

Have Nexens on the rear (20s) and Nitto NT555s in the front. Did have Nittos all the way around, but like you wanted to save a few bucks...... didn't think the Nexens were too bad until I tried to make a yellow light today and hit the brakes real hard...... Let's put it this way, next time I'll fork out the extra $50 a tire for the Nitto NT555s for sure..... enough said. Best performance tire on a semi-budget: Nitto NT555s.... don't go no less.... I did and it was a bad choice. And even if you don't drive that crazy which I really don't
, it just takes that 1 time.... hope this helps

I thought those were the worst tire I've ever run. The ride is crap and they have no traction. I really like the Bridgestone RE050's but the Riken Raptors have to be the best high performance tire deal. They are made by Michelin and are the lightest tires I have ever held and have crazy grip.

They suck if you actually want to grip. Now for burnouts and drifting, they are probably fantastic ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
If you want good gripping tires for cheap kuhmo MX is probably the best way to go for lower tread rating. If you want higher tread rating and want a cheap price then I guess General UHPs aren't bad, they hare MUCH better than Nexen3000 or wanli or whatever other ebay tires you want to compare them to.

thats kinda of what i wanted to hear. I figure all these tires have to meet DOT specs so i figure they wouldnt be great but good enough.
I have toyo t1R on my car now and I would think i would feel a big difference.
for price, they are actually much cheaper than any of the tires mentioned as a replacment.
I can get a set of 19's for 450 bucks. I am probably going to get a set of Verdestein. I heard great things and the price is still lower than most big names
thanks

I've read up on Nexen and gather that its a decent tire (made from Korea not China) at a good price for the "normal driver." Wouldn't recommend them for the more aggressive drivers.
Any other NEXEN owners or ex-owners wanna chime in???
