Why are there 1000 M3s but no 1000 HP AMGs?

96 and 08 911 turbos
Can I see some corrected (SAE please) dyno graphs please?
I wonder what kinda power my cobra would make with 33psi. Im guessing about 1300rwhp (with a turbo that is)

1000 hp
What is a stock E55 putting out 469hp rated? That is at what 14 psi? more or less. With a pulley and a few other minor mods it is easy up to 550 hp now at ~18 psi boost. The parasistic losses from driving the SC off the crank are going to eat up at least 40-50 hp at redline. So in theory swapping a turbo for the supercharger should gain you another 50 peak hp at the same boost, maybe more. That would put you at 600 hp at 18 psi boost from a 5.5 liter engine. That is completely doable while remaining inside the current limits. Considering that modded E55's are trapping low 11's they are putting down a sled load of power since the E55 is not exactly a light weight automobile. I would not be surprised to know that the faster ones are dynoing a bit more than 600 hp even with the SC still there.
The bugaboo is the MB ECU. Just popping it out and putting in a standalone is not going to happen since the !@#$% ecu controls everything on the car. It would take some serious re-engineering to get there and the AMG is such a low volume car that it won't pay off to do the work. The AMG engine is strong enough but getting all the other systems to work is the challenge. Everything you do must be made from scratch. Without the ability to run higher boost it will be really hard to push the limits. Look at the BMW numbers, they are running crazy boost numbers and it is true the M power heads do flow well which enables high rpms with the high torque numbers.
