I wonder why MB is going away from rounded headlights?
To me Mercedes Benz has always been about round headlights. It's their traditional look. I just don't get why all of their new cars are going to these squared off looking lights. I guess everyone wants to look like a toyota camry these days to sell cars lol.

yeah I agree...I am sure the new E and other MB's with the square lights will look good, but it has always been MB's thing with the oval lights. Gonna be strange seeing it another way.

Sniff sniff.....can't believe we are literally less than 30 days away from driving

Gosh this is gonna be rough.
New E revealed in Detroit Jan 11-25th.
Least we are bout a year away from AMGs so we got one more year to party up before our values plummet even more.

FWIW, the W124 Porsche built E500 and the W124 CE coupes remain my sentimental favourites in the MB lineup, so I'm willing to give the 'retro' headlight design a chance to see it in person: the W221 S-class and the W204 C-class have both been well executed aesthetically to my eyes.

+1, hence why IMHO the rectangular'ish headlight designs is going back to the future for Mercedes-Benz's passenger vehicle design brief.

We should know soon. The sedan is being revealed at Detroit from what I have read and that means that both models should be at the NY auto show in April.

I think the new E would look if badged as a Honda, its just not like them. I think the 221 looks great, and 216 AMG cars look great too, and the new C is very aggressive, but this new E looks almost Japanese. I think the coupe especially is not smooth enough.
