Some minor cutting was involved, but everything turned out great!

When you say, "More instructions about how to remove the center clockspring stuff would have been helpful", are you referring to the converter-module connection to the clock spring, or the other harness that is associated with your airbag and steering-mounted switches? If it is just the converter-module connection to the clock spring that needed clarification, would the bottom picture in page 2 of this Paddle-Converter info sheet have been enough info?
(the 2 page info sheet can be found in the post linked below)

I appreciate your feedback,

Two words... WOW! I had no idea all this could be done to the Beast! You've done a helluva job and it looks great! Couple of things I'm interested in...
1. About how much was the distronic to add?
2. What is the part number for that steering wheel?
Again, can't say enough about how impressive your mods are!

I actually do not remember how much it was to add on Distronic since it was one part of many installs in that session. It's best to contact MBenzNL about it.
The steering wheel was bought from Renntech almost immediately after I bought the car in 2004. But I think there are many places today you can buy a similar style steering wheel.
Finally all installed!!!
The work was done in Germany. MBenzNL helped have it made for me and my buddy here in SoCal, who's an independent technician, helped install it.
The stitching now matches all the other merlot stitching I had from the factory two-tone option. The original stitching is just a little more faded since the car is about nine years old now.
The dash and all four door top panels were done.
Here are some pics:

Thanks for all the compliments! I've been waiting almost three years to get this part. It took a long time because MBenzNL had to get the parts that would be wrapped and then have the person in Germany do the work.
But it was definitely worth the wait.
Regarding the steering wheel: as I mentioned above it was bought from Renntech back in 2004. I'm sure there are many more vendors today that can provide a similar product. The leather stitched airbag is from AMG. Now I just wish the airbag had matching stitching.
