JANGY vs. JRCART Willow Springs $5000.00 Shootout
In case some of you missed it Jangy and I (along with several other members) got into another pissing contest. Long Story short, Jangy has been talking crap for several months now, he has challenged me to a couple money races only to back out for one reason or another.
If you would be so kind to click on the link below and fast forward to post #268 you will see my challenge, in a nutshell I have to beat Jangy by 2.000 seconds on the Big Track at Willow or I pay him $5000.00, If I do beat him by 2.000 seconds or more (inevitable) he has to pay me nothing...I walk with bragging rights.
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...what-look.html
Now, while you are over on that link fast forward to post number #297 and you will see Jangy's responce as follows
"$5k goes a long way. I can bring my car, right?"
I take that as he is accepting the challenge, how would you guys take it?
...and yes Jangy, please bring your E55 to the Big track at Willow on Thursday January the 15th, this offer is for you driving your car, no hired guns wheeling your car.
Come on Jangy, this is a no brainer, in the past you said you road racing is your thing, you said you could out drive me on a road course, you claim your car is faster than mine and I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON WILLOW IN MY LIFE...Is 6 hours enough time for me to master the track![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Based on your above beliefs this challenge is heavily stacked in your favor, it's easy money for you Jangy...are you gonna show up? Let me know so I can bring the cash to the track with me.
Jangy, call up Brad or Simon, pay your $495 race day fee and get out there, that's over 1000% return on investment, not too shabby in todays market is it?

Well,
If you're in the CLKBS and Jangy is in ANY W211, I'll cover anything up to $500.00 (even money or better if anyone wants to give me odds) on the CLK.

I will make one other offer, If Jangy would like to make this a wheel-to-wheel race I will do that as well, lets say 5 laps?
Let me know Jangy...Wheel-to-wheel would show who the better racer is.

Sorry but I'm not familiar with the track, but I'm guessing its not a drag course.
I dont know how to feel about this as I dont kno0w about the drivers' talents behind the wheel. Obviously car v. car, I think the BS will take it, by 2 seconds, I dont know, but it will. Cant wait to see how this plays out.
Of course I hope the 55 wins though. Have to root for the bro

Is this a stupid joke?
a CLK63 BS vs a E55 with some go fast bits?
Ok as a guy who is at willow about 6-10 times a year I will say Jangy has zero chance at that bet. I have spent years trying to get a normal AMG MB to lap quickly at the track and my best time in a C32 (all modified out) was a 1:35.6. I was running tires so large I had to re-paint the fenders (R-comp Nitto NT-01's) I had 3 degrees of negative camber front and 2.5 rear, 415 hp, custom made intercoolers (before the days of LET and Brandon -- heck Brandon bought the cooler off this car and copied them for production) and the list goes on and on.
There is no way a 4100 lb E55 could do a 1:35 and I know from BS owners that the BS does a pretty low 1:3x lap (around 1:31-1:32).
Last time Jangy posted his corner entry speeds, apex speeds and straight speeds I was 5-15 mph faster on every figure in that C32.
The E55 will just fall flat on its face on corners 3,4,5 (the omega) as a car prone to understeer just wont make it through 4 with any speed. Plus he wont have a left front for more than a couple sessions if he plans to run that hard (turns 2,8 and 9 destroy the drivers front on a heavy car to the point where I was delaminating P-Zero Corrsas after 1 session)
I am currently doing a 1:35 in friends mildly modded Evo X and a 1:35 in a pretty much dedicated track car E36 325is/M3. The BMW is 2650 lbs. I am NO racing god and I dont want to try to put bets on it or race anyone. I just know this is going to be a done deal before it even gets going.
Guys I dont have any ill will towards Jangy and I dont want to say JCart is God either but man this bet is pointless. The drag race seemed WAY more logical.
J-Cart you will be faster than Jangy after 1 session. Its a track that favors BIG ***** and I think we all know thats one of your strong suites. Just remember late turn in on 9 and dont get on the gas to early on 3 and 5. The rest is pretty simple.
Also, JCart, if you have issues with ESP as a CLK BS owner has before at big willow just disconnect your yaw sensor and esp/asr will not work. This wont turn off ABS hopefully but it might. I have had ESP and ABS shut off due to a bad steering input angle sensor so it might kill both at once.

I'm not sure I follow, are you betting on me and my CLK to win or Jangy in his E55, the bet is for Jangy to be driving his own E55. If you want to put $500 on Jangy I will take that bet.
Heres the bet again.
Me (JRCART) driving my Black Series vs. Jangy driving his E55 at the big track at Willow. We will both carry lap timing devices in our car and at the end of the day if my fastest lap is not at least 2.000 seconds faster I pay him $5000.00.
One thing I need to check, since I have not seen the track, I need to make sure there are no short-cuts or chicanes he can overshoot to improve his times.

Obviously my money would be on the CLK, but I doubt I can get anyone to cover it. If so, just let me know. You have nothing to worry about on the track, there's no "shortcuts" that'll help, trust me. You might help him out by running street tires VS full on comps, but the understeer is going to kill a 55 on the track no matter what tires are on it, ask me how I know.
