*** VRP -FANGS- Intake for 55s ***
#52
You have no idea what their involved costs are, you have no idea the type of piping they used, or the time they spent tuning the kit, and testing different size pips, and finding the largest pipes that bring in effective power.
Then get yours 'made for cheap' and don't garbage up this thread with your berating of their product. Personally I'd buy this once they get it finished, and even if its $1000 I'm sure it will be a nice piece and well worth every penny that I put into it.
Most intakes from reputable companies are made in stainless steel, and many are still powdercoated, or polished for looks.

While I agree the filters appear to be in the path way of water decending from the upper grill area, water from a wash and especially rain also enters the stock ducting since they are designed to scope air in from in front of the radiator. A little bit of water won't do any damage to the engine. If anythings it may act as water injection.

This is a no-brainer intake .
at $1000 you are significantly over paying

any updates on these at all?
i recently went to a local shop here whose very good at fabricating things like this, and they called this project a bs after taking a look at my car and said that there would be noway to have the pipe and the cone fit right behind the front grill, and that it still wont get cold air cuz of the ac condensor and radiator is right there... when is this going to come out so i can show these guys up?!?!

Agreed that it wouldn't be necessary to go with a 304 or greater grade stainless when it's going to get a thorough inside/outside ceramic thermal coating. Thats one way to save on some costs unless you had a large lot of stainless tubing at your disposal.

Stainless is cheaper than mild steel + Coatings......
