PULLEY & ECU

I just got the VRP 175mm pulley kit with the Powerchip ecu flash. I have been running with my friend who has a CLS 55 stock. Am I supposed to be pulling hard, because I feel like my car isn't putting 466rwhp and 523rwtrq like the dyno said. He is right next to me the entire time, and I can't pull.

Is there something wrong with my kit? Is this normal? Can anyone with a similar kit share their experiences racing against stock 55s?

Thanks

I have yet to run a stock 55 after my VR550, but I can tell you mine was much stronger after, especially from around 70mph on up. I would think that is really where you would have seen the difference.

At what speeds where you guys running?

I would suggest getting your ic pump checked. You should be pretty far ahead of his car. And slightly ahead of him even stock.

I would think that your setup should pull on a stock 55, unless your friend isn't being honest with you.

yea thats what i was thinkin, but I am sure that it is 100% stock. it feels faster but it is not pulling at all on him, and that is why I am concerned...

you think it could be the intercooler pump? Because I had a new intercooler installed along with a Johnson Pump to keep the engine cool.

Well...you already have the new cooling things installed, your friend is definitely stock, and your car feels faster. The only thing it could be is that your friend owns one fast azz stock car

Ya I got all the cooling mods done. he bought the car brand new from the dealer. The weird part is that before I got the ECU and Pulley done we were neck and neck and sometimes I would inch away. But now with all the work done its the same thing.

O and we have done from stand still, from about 20 to 120 starting in first gear, second gear start. Everytime its the same result, my car isn't pulling as much as it should I feel like.

Im the one with the cls55 that he has been racing. Its completely stock plus im about 4k over for my service and i have 65k miles on the car. We race every chance we can get 0-60, 0-100, 2nd gear pulls highway pulls everything and i dont believe the car in tuned right or it was installed wrong. I was with him when he dyno'd it and saw the numbers. I think it might have been dyno'd in dyno mode. If it was is that hp that hes putting down dif from when hes just driving everyday?

By chance have you had your car dyno'd? Being in dyno mode only takes off the safeguards, like ESP and ABS. It doesn't decrease or increase hp readings, at least that's my understanding. I'm sure someone else will chime in soon.

ya that E55 was fast, the only thing is that that E55 had the throttle body and headers, which puts the HP in the 500 range to the wheel.

thanks for the input, keep it coming

No man, it has a evosport stage 2 kit, 80mm tb, evo headers, evo cooling package, cf airbox, cf intake tubes... it is 600-650hp at the crank..

btw, what cooling package did you go with?

ya that one is fast. i went with the Johnson pump, and a larger heat exchanger. its not the greatest setup for heat, maybe a bigger pump is needed

It could be that your ECU didn't take the software.
