Will the 180MM Crank Pulley generate too much heat

I am trying to decide which pulley to go with and I am leaning towards the 180MM pulley. I dont see many guys on here with that size, is that because it will overspin the blower and generate to much heat. What boost increase does that size yield?

What are your experiences with LET and VRP for their tuning and pulley kits? Both seem to have good prices, but how conservative are their tunes and are they all dyno tunes?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am getting my LET 180mm pulley next week, and i will post up results. I dont it expect it to generate too much heat, but I know that a good cooling kit is necessary...

Who has a 180? sure it is not a 178. You most likely need some cooling mods.

Owner of LET, I think his name is Jerry said he did a ton of 180mm pulleys at a dyno day this past weekend and they were all over 500rwhp/500rwtq. He did say a Johnson Pump, H/E and 180 Thermostat was recomended.

Well i saw a Renntech stage 4 that dynoed high 480s rwhp and 520s rwtq then changed the renntech pulley to a ASP 180mm and LET dyno tune and made 531rwhp and 545rwtq and this was on 20 in wheels. On one of my friends cars the same day an 04 e55 with just ASP 180mm and LET dynotune he put down 487rwhp and 525rwtq on 20x11 HRE rear wheels with 295-25-20 tires. Jerry and Wayne from LET said if it was on stock 18s it would have picked up 10+whp & tq on both sides, needless to say LETs tune and ASP 180 pulley do an amazing job together! This car with an Active autowerkes tune we dyno'd before LET flashed there tune on the dyno and it would only dyno 450rwhp they picked up 37rwhp just putting there dynotune on the car!

That just seems very high for a pulley and a tune...

I sell the ASP 180mm for $799 and I also sell LET pulleys and tunes I just became a veder for them in South FL. In the process of working on getting there tuner kit so I can start doing there tunes on the spot in south Florida and will be connected with LET via wireless for dynoing if your looking for a dynotune over a base flash, contact me if interested.

Wow, so it looks like the 180mm pulley bumps the boost a couple of pounds? Almost 500rwhp/tq is impressive indeed. Who else supplies these in the west?

Where is LET located at? I would be interested in taking my car straight to Jerry and having him do the install and dyno tune if it isn't to far away.

I live about 3 hours south of St. Louis. How far from St. Louis is he? There shouldn't be any drivability problems after I get it done right? Do you know his handle on here?
