*** VRP MidSection X-pipe ***

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Here is our MidSection X-pipe prototype.

Stock E55 Exhaust.

The design features:

- 3'' Aluminized Mandrel Bends (Ceramic Coating is an option)
- Direct BoltOn to stock exhaust manifolds and stock catback.
- Will fit VRP, Evosport, Renntech or any other shorty that fits stock H-pipe
- Front pipe is 2.25'' vs. 2'' stock. As big as it can be in order to work with shorty style flanges
- Front bends will be modular, allowing full 3'' capability to mate to Kleemann Headers or any other custom design
- Will allow us to make a RACE version of our shorty header with 3'' collector body
- Has all four O2 sensor bungs. We can turn-off CELs with software
- X-pipe adds nice exotic sound
- Will fit CLS55, E55s, CLS63 and E63s.

I will have more pictures and pricing tomorrow.

Stay Tuned!

Sounds good (no pun).

I assume this part takes the place of the secondary cats...or the resonator...or whichever you choose?

looks good! ill be adding kleeman headers and DP soon so its good to know that these fit.
what is the advantage of having the xpipe over changing the secondary resonators to straight pipes?

Ummmm Wow. that x, well it's not good. Seriously not good. And Aluminized????

I know for a fact that a major exhaust manufacture is testing a system for the E55 next week. Before and after dyno's also. I also know that it will not cost a fortune.

If I were doing this, I would include a high flow Random Technologies catalyst in the stock primary catalyst locations, with before and after O2 bungs, and then just have nothing but mandrel bent tubing to where it bolts up to the factory resonator. With the metallic catalysts, you remain emissions compliant and you don't have to clear CEL codes. Random has a nice selection of universal fit round metallic catalysts in tube sizing compatible with what VRP is doing. Straight pipes from the header flanges to the center exhaust is not a great idea IMO. Not affiiliated at all with Random, but here's the link:

http://www.randomtechnology.com/products.html

Lot's of us already have X-pipes or straight pipes in lieu of the factory resonator, so why force us to redo that section of the exhaust (i.e., no need to have TWO X-pipes in the system)? Plus, some of our X-pipes are superior to what's shown in the VRP photo above. Just sayin' . . . . .

Nice pipe, more of a split merge pipe but very nice

That pipe that Vadim showed is going to be a restriction no if and or but's the radius is far too tight. He should have gone with a premade x-pipe like this one

or this one

Aluminized is to keep the cost down. If someone wants stainless, no problem. We can make special order.

The X-pipe crossover on production piece will be more open. This is just a prototype.

The converter option will be available as well.

I will post more details as we progress.

Will there be an option to buy just the downpipes with the primary cats delete? With the flange that mates to the VRP HEMs.

I have tried different set-ups and can't seem to find the proper flange/piping to let HEMs breathe better...

Part #25 & #30

Factory pieces go all the way to the resonator. To make it a bolt on, it will have to stop at 280 gasket.

It will fit all shorty header, including ours.

Hmmmm.........I am not sure about that. This X-pipes design seems to perform/sound very well for me. Actually many people, including some that posted on this thread, complimented me on the way my exhaust sounds

Which Xpipe are you talking about? The one that Vadim is showing is a bad design, very bad. You want it to look like the two photo's I posted.

Xpipes are a very good thing, it's just the one they posted is not.

What is your proof it is bad. Have you done a before and after dyno pull with his pipe Coming out of the mustang world, I know tons about x pipes and H pipes. They have been around for decades and one thing I have noticed, is that as long as x pipes actually meet at the x chamber and allow the exhaust pulses to scavange, they all pretty much perform the same. The only difference is if the x design is different from one pipe to the next, the tone and sound of the exhaust will differ. This is proven fact all over the mustang boards.

What is the sizing of the stock pipe right where is goes into the resonator
