OMG you guys. I am DEVASTATED!! Ken, my tech/friend is leaving!!!
Guy I have been working with for years at my dealer just told me he is leaving to move onto greener pastures and I am just speechless.
This guy was the foreman of the shop and super mod friendly. He really enjoyed messing around with my car and we just had a blast. He literally made the rule of "your car, you can do what you want with it".
Don't really want to go into details but he just felt it was best for him to move on to another line of work.
If the new foreman at the place really "tows the line" from MB, I am just screwed.
I knew it wouldn't last forever but WOW, this is just really devastating.
Bottom line is I am happy for him and his family and hope he can find what he is looking for in life, but at the same time, I feel like I just got diagnosed with the big C or something.
I need beer and lots of it. This is just horrible. Like a modding 9-11!!
RIP to the greatest tech/mb mechanic in the United States.
I can't type any more....beer time.

Alright, I feel for you but you made too unbelievably dramatic analogies. Take a deep breath.
Its better to have loved and lost a mod friendly MB tech, then to have never had a mod friendly MB tech at all. I'm still searching.

Sorry to hear about that... I had a similar scenario but my dealership wound up calling my tech back with an offer he couldn't refuse... so thankfully I am happy again 
Your car is out of warranty, isn't it? You might be making trips over to Kleemann for work on your car... it's only 500mi away, right?

Jim, before you lose all contact with him see if there is anyone he can recommend either at your dealer or one close by that is willing to work on your car on site or off. I have an Master Tech that works on the side out of is house.

that's too bad. i've spent some time with ken on the phone in the past and he is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable techs there are. i feel for you buddy!

Jim, I Feel for you. That comfort zone & good friendship has been disturbed. Ken was a Kool guy and added many great posts , with real life questions & Answers. We will miss him , I'm sure other will help fill the voids. You my friend , have a very agreeable disposition and surly will strike up a new mutual friendship with a well versed technicion. Don't look to hard they will find you. you will know it because you will see the new person went the extra Mile.

Sorry to hear that Jim..... I know how hard it is finding a nice, knowledgeable, and mod-friendly Mercedes tech. Hopefully, he can still work on your car or put you in touch with someone who can. We will definitely miss him.

Okay, for real, just talking to him and higher ups worked out a deal to get him to stay. The modding continues....but....
I dunno, the pain of the breakup this week, the long nights of staying up by the phone hoping he would call. Staring up at the moon wondering if he was looking up at the same moonlit sky.
He's promised me he would never hurt me again like last time and he just sent me a dozen roses. I am gonna go back with him even though all my friends say I am crazy. I have to wear sunglasses in public to hide the scars from his last quitting rage, but I just know he's changed this time.
Sounding too much like a chick?
