To the Silver E55 or E63 headest Westbound (north) on I94 @ 6:30pm today...
I don't get it.
Oddly enough, I recognize your car. When I had my SL65 at Custom Cars I saw your car and saw the E63 updated body work you were putting on it after your "incident". It actually came out really nicely.
What I don't understand, is that if I hadn't seen your car at Custom Cars (and knew the history), and saw it on the highway like I did today, I wouldn't know what to make of it. You have an E63 front bumper, wheels, trunk, rear bumper, and 6.3 fender badges, but on the back E55 and AMG badges.
I don't think I've ever seen such an AMG identity crisis before... if you read this, ditch the 6.3 badges. The car looks great and the 6.3 badges don't belong there and otherwise ruin what a great job was done.

Marcus, did you catch a real good look at the front fender badging? They now make a 5.5 front fender badge that looks like the 63 front fender badge, at a glance it looks just like a 63.
On another note who owns the black Brabus K8 E55 I saw parked in front of Binny's in Naperville on Saterday afternoon...nice car, but why the hell would you be driving it this time of year? The 2-tone salt covered look is not too flattering, I find it difficult to believe somebody would drop that kind of coin on a car but not have a winter driver.

I have a couple of friends with modded 997TTs that use them as their winter drivers, another friend that uses a Gallardo as daily transport (even in bad weather), and yet another that uses a DBS as his daily driver.
I suppose it all depends on how much money you have and how much rock chips bug you.

That could have been me, but the car I was looking at also was not tinted. You are making me second guess myself, but I am sure it had E55 badges and E55 style tailights, it also was not tinted and I could see the driver!

I drive my E55 in the winter, not routinely, but I do. I bought the car to drive, and even though I have the GL sometimes the woman takes the truck so I take the E55. My SL is my weekend car, and the E55 has always been for daily duty. It's not about the money my friend, it's about having cars to drive daily that you actually enjoy. I'm not gonna have 4 cars just to prevent the E55 from being driven sometimes in the winter!

Damn bro, if I am mistaken, again I apologize. I don't know how I could have messed that up. Your car looked great man, hence my original post.
You can give me a good next time we see each other.
What is funny is I saw a silver E55 getting ALL THE SAME parts that would have made it look exactly like the car I thought I saw, minus the fender badges. Maybe I just assumed and should have looked closer?
F'in crazy man. I need a good
I didn't know you lived/worked up in my neck of the woods. Most of the AMG guys (and car guys for that matter) are either west or south/southwest.

Bro it looks like I must be going crazy. I sincerely apologize to you, I SWEAR I saw E55 badges and e55 tailights. I came up behind the car, and I've seen E63s before. Is your E63 silver?

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
There is nothing cool about driving a DBS or Gallardo or any other high HP rwd car in the snow...it just shows stupidity, has nothing to do with $$$, I have lots of $$$ but all the rear wheel drive sports cars get parked in November or they get shipped to warmer climates. Every time I see a poor sucker driving a vette or SL or Aston in the snow I think, that must be one crazy dude to try to navigate 8 inches of snow in his 500hp Z06
But granted, I do not own a Gallardo....
If I did, I think I would surely drive it OCCASIONALLY in winter-
they are just cars!

I know one thing, Lambo of Chicago parts dept. looks at you funny when you ask about snow tire packages. And so do Continental in Hinsdale. I don't see why, if you aren't plowing snow with the front end, they all pull like hell in this cold air.
