I shipped my US spec W211 E55 to the UK last year. To conform to UK specs. I had to replace the headlights with new ones with the correct offset and light dispersion. I am told that EU spec lights (including UK lights) have the option to adjust the light pattern to flatten the light dispersion when travelling to other countries that drive on the other side. The question is would I be able to ship the car back to the US when I return later this year with the installed lights or is it best to re-install the US spec lights?

There is no proplem with these in the the U.S. I have euro spec bi xenons which are better so keep them.

Just to be clear the UK spec lights that I installed are offset for RHD cars (driving on the left)so the pattern needs to be flattened so that it does not blind on coming traffic when driving on the right. So I would appreciate some clarification to your assertion as the installed lights would blind oncoming US drivers
