2006 E55 - obsidian black, all options except pano roof - gone but not forgotten
crossed over to the dark side
..sort of...The lease on my '06 E55 is up...The new E-class is not up to my taste...the bimmers aren't either...picked up an '08 XJR and love it! Roaming around jag forums now to see what can be done in terms of increasing performance...

i saw one on the highway the other day and was surprised by how much i liked it. looks really nice, congrats!! plus you don't see nearly as many of those on the roads as you do MB's and BMW's.

Hay they maybe expessive Fords, but alot of us have an expessive Chrysler. Jaguar is a lot better these days since Ford has has taken control. I had an Stype 4.0 v8. That was a fine car. It was never in the shop, I've had 3 Mercedes and all of them are service queens. Always in the shop.

Probably true..although I never track these cars ( only my ss ), and on the treet they feel about the same...plus I like the 6 speed tranny in the XJR much better ( no dead spot below 2500 RPM )...The new E-class is an eye sore in my opnioin....

i agree with this post 100%. the new E-class is average looking at best and most find it really fugly to say the least. the only way MB is going to find out how we feel is if previous customers look to other brands for their next purchase. also a few tenths of second on the track doesnt really mean much in everyday settings, most people couldnt tell the difference at all if they didnt know what car they were in. better to go with a car you find appealing since driving a car you cant stand to look at but might do .2's better on the track sounds dumb imo.

Actually car and driver ran '04 XJR in 4.7 sec to 60. 1/4 mile in 13.2@107...The new XJR has a bit more TQ and HP

Mercedes-Benz owned Chrysler for 10 seconds and does not use any of their "technology" in their vehicles.
Your logic makes no sense.
There are ZERO Chrysler parts on an E55. How many Ford parts are on a Jag?

Totally agree, saw the new Jag up close in the parking lot @ my gym the other night, the brake calipers look puny, the styling is deff old manish...
I'd have the new CTS-V over the ****-mobile any day of the week..
Feeling that group hug
