Anyone here drive a GTR? or have opinions?
What were you impressions of that aspect of it? Particularly the exhaust note. The M6's V10 at full song is really hard to beat...
Performancewise, its slower than my modded TT by a bit but that is to be expected. Its acceleration is very linear, I didnt really feel the gear shifts and there was minimal turbo lag- better than the TT. It has good dig "get up and go" but was slighly deficient IMHO at higher rolling speeds ie mashing it at 65mph and running to 120mph. The car only had 5 miles on it when I drove it and I didnt have the R buttons on at first. I have no idea what all those things were and the GM wasnt sure either. The handling was superb- planted at all speeds and I even pressed it in high speed bank turns and had no fear. The brake feel was super tight, better than TT in fact from initial impressions. Ill have to drive it again since the first time there is an adrenaline effect.

I probably push my cars harder than most and this is purely my opinion. There isnt a day where I dont hit the 160 mph benchmark. Its partially due to the M6 which requires higher RPM's to get the most out of the car. The exhaust doesnt help, and you are right its hard to beat, because its such a race sound it almost forces you to speed. The steering feel was great in the GT-R, I forgot to mention that.I was in the "A" mode when I started and on the freeway I went to manual to see how the down shifts were but this without the R buttons on. I also did rollers in "A" mode (60-120) without the R buttons on. Are the "R" buttons similar to my Sport button in the 997TT? The Sport button makes a huge difference in the Turbo.
the transmission can't skip gears (it can't go directly from 6th to 3rd), so it usually just bumps down one gear....
when I first got the car, I couldn't figure out why the car felt weak in A mode on the highway, but going into M mode, and downshifting a few gears to the proper gear makes a big difference....

I would guess in a few months a tune alone would be able to add around 100HP to the stock car.... the tuners are constantly updating...

I must say......... I really do admire the GTR. If you can do a clean and reasonable deal, then I would consider it. I doubt it would be a better ride than your M6 but it would be a nice change. Judging from your other cars, I'm sure you would make it a stunner.
So......my vote is yes, besides I have considerable Japanese hate material........... so get it done.

The man has spoken. I will heed your advice

Go to page 2 of this thread...
before this update, the only way to launch without launch control, was to stab the throttle off idle at 750 RPM... now, the computer will allow you to powerbrake the car to 3k RPM and go from there.... I have been running 11.2 with 1.9x 60' times starting from idle, now I will be able to start from 3k RPM, which "should" bring the 60' down to 1.8 or maybe lower.... this is with VDC on so, it won't void any warranties...

Are you doing wheels on the car? Thoughts?
While it "should" run a high, high 10 second pass with these two additions and cool weather, I'm not counting on it... I know how elusive the last 2/10's can be...

I'll be keeping the stock wheels, I usually don't do wheels unless the stockers are hideous or messed up...
a bone stock GT-R with the launch update ran 11.3 @ 120 MPH (great weather), one would think an extra 90HP would put this car in the 10's...
