2005 AMG E55
Introducing the all-new 2010 E-Class Sedan...

just got the email from mbusa.com. Sorry if its old news. Looks like AMG model not coming out until 2010.

The Heart and Soul of Mercedes-Benz Redefined.
The all-new E-Class sedan was unveiled on January 10, 2009 and left a lasting impression for all that saw it. With a rich 60 year history, the E-Class sedan provides the perfect balance of heroic engineering, visionary design, class-leading safety features and the ultimate in luxury. The new E-Class takes familiar design cues from its legendary predecessor, while still presenting a fresh and modern direction for Mercedes-Benz design. Its sporty design and elegant appointments reflect the true heart and soul of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Base engine: 3.5-liter, 268-hp-V6. Available mid-summer as an E350 and E550; all-wheel-drive, E63AMG and E350 BlueTec diesel arrive in 2010.

Interesting, I've disliked almost every rendering thus far, but I like what I see here.

Specifically, the way the hood comes into the grill. Not sure how to describe it, but the hood seems to be bulgy (in a good, aggressive way) just before it nose dives (literally) and incorporates the grill.

2005 AMG E55
like anything else, i think it will grow on us over time...

after the mods start appearing...
aftermarket body styling...
fellow owners dyno sheets...

In a few years, most of us here might be driving one...

I heard from a credible source that the new AMG models will be based off the current 550 motor and have twin turbos which will pump out around 550-600hp. The idea of a twin-turbo 63 motor was scrapped a long time ago due to cost issues.

i heard the same thing only heard that the 63 motor will be replacing the 65 models now and will be a 6.3 twin turbo.

also the 550 will be avalible in twin turbo by 2011.

all that info is what i read nothing 100% solid.

2009 E63 AMG
I'm sure the AMG version will be awesome. It's not that bad. Already starting to grow on me when thinking of it with 600HP, 19 inch rims and better body moldings in black.

Yup me too, but I heard it's mostly a CAFE issue in Europe and heck now even America. Smaller engines that have the turbs programed to come on only when needed and while not needed, car will have much higher mpg. Gotta please the big O and his new higher mileage standards.

Still shows that Benz really has no clue about what we really want! If they DID have a clue, they would be teasing the twin turbs by now. Just like when the Germans finally caved and gave us drink holders years ago.
What kind of company can't walk/drive down ANY street in America and look at us and see that we are people that like to eat and drink......A LOT!!!

If they go for the twin turbos I wonder what type of tuning potential it has...
