Luxury market has collapsed.

My dealer in town usually had a month or more wait on loaners for service. Last service I had I called late in the day for loaner to pick up first thing next day.....yup they had um.

Service guys were literally standing around doing nothing. My guy was the foreman and he would sometimes come in at Noon and still leave early.

Salesmen would literally attack me like starving animals when I went to the bathroom.

Gonna see a lot of Benz dealers closing in 09 I am afraid.

Yeah, when I got this email, I almost hung myself for not financing any of my cars

But read the asterisks... I wish their price for used R-class were good... I'm in the market for one.

* We will payoff your trade-in as part of your new lease structure and make your 1st 2 payments on your new lease up to $1,000.
==> New lease structure? Meaning adding your outstanding balance to the lease?

** On select models.
Which model? I'm sure it's S65, S63 and all other high-end models. For SLR, $25K discount is too low... LOL

payoff

any dealer can payoff any loan\ and add the difference to your new lease. The problem is you will probably lose your shirt if you try to trade in your car. They are having the same problem selling used cars as they with new cars

FJ

I saw a white e63 P30 with grey interior about 3 months ago that I first saw a year ago.

Wondering if its still there- the grey on white interior was really nice, never seen a gray interior before on a 63

I go to this dealer regularly as FJ Fremont is very close to me

They have the black 08 e63 heavily optioned with the p030 package for MSRP $106k. It's considered used with 2000 miles. If only this car was white I'd consider it but they were trying to ask me what I would pay hinting it would be an $80k car. For $80k they will never sell that thing if you ask me.

I love how dealers try to imply the car is worth a lot and is RARE when they know good and well AMG cars are dime a dozen and values fall faster than the stock market!

Forgot who it was that said the e63 AMG's had a $30k off msrp for leftover 2008 models.....?

Actually, it was Fletcher Jones Fremont that was offering that deal. They offered $30k off MSRP on two 2008 E63s and 1 CLS63 only. They had a big ad in the newspaper as well. Each of the E63 were fully loaded and had an MSRP of $106k. I don't know why the deal applied only to those 3 cars specifically and not other 2008 models but I have an idea By the way, the promotional offer ran only for 2 weeks in December, then stopped. I think they sold both E63s, but I'm not sure if the CLS63 ever got sold or not.

WOW how interesting.....then in that case this 2008 "used" with 2000 miles should theoretically sell for less than that!

Again I really do NOT want another black car so it makes no difference to me.....

Got the same Mail...Its hard when the cars set on the lot for Months and Ted writes checks for flooring

I Think one could do better on the deals...

The Newport Store is flooded with cars

Read the fine print on the ZERO % Interest ....FICO score in the 800s

I need to stop by.... wonder whether their "select models" for 0% APR applies to used cars... lol. I do need a people hauler that could be trashed around. FICO 800's? No problem...

*** EDIT ***
Mark, you said Newport is flooded w/ cars... I wonder why they price this car like this 23K miles (typo on the ad), no options (except AMG package + may be NAV)... $38K??? I could get more loaded, a lot lower mileage (if not new), 2008.

I know FJ used car dept is sometimes LOL

It's a fletcher-jones dealership, so you better have an electron microscope to understand the fine print, and at the end of the day they'll figure out a way to have you paying way over market for the car. They are the most overpriced dealership out there.
