Is it possible to run 305s on a 19x9.5" rim???

I really want to do this. I know 295s fit good, but I just want to take it to the next step. Thoughts?

i dont think so

I think the largest you can go a 9.5 is a 285 safely, you will need either a 10.5 or 11 to run 305

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
305/30/19

Needs at minimum 10.5 And the proper offset. If you can stuff those into the 63's tubs
a 295 should also be on a 10.5 ,what are you running them on now? 9.5's meant for the oem 285's?
305 on a 9.5 is pushing into dangerous territory.Especially on a +4300 lb. car.

305s will mount on a 9.5" wheel but you'll lose performance (because the corner of the tread will be pulled away from the road in order for the bead to reach the wheel) as well as some of the safety margin (which is why the tire manufacturer won't recommend it).

305s should go on a 10.5 wheel. it's doable on 9.5 but i would not recommend going over 285 really

Your worst nightmare...
What about if you buy Slicks that are 305 and strictly use them for the strip or straight line performace only on a 9.5 wheel?

I never Understood why MB didn't put the same 19's on the E55/63 the the CLS55/63 have. I wonder if someone runs stock E55/63 18s on a CLS55/63 would it put better numbers down at the Drag strip? I would think you be fast with an 18inch then the standard 19 that comes stock on the CLS55/63?

The CLS is the sexy sibling, therefore the 19s.

Yes, the CLS is faster on 18s.

It's hard to know exactly what to make of the safety margin. If there was no issue at all, the tire manufacturers would recommend a wider range of wheels. They don't, so there definitely is a safety issue. On the other hand, more than a few Corvette, Mustang, and F-Body owners run over-sized tires and there are not widespread reports of failure.

As far as dragstrip/straight-line performance goes, a 305 on a narrow wheel may not perform as well as a 285 or even a 275. If a person wants to run 305s, why not just buy larger wheels to enable the tires to perform at their best?
